Physical Dwyer is better than most would like you to believe. All he needs is a good physical mom with the right stat modifiers like Azura (an otherwise not very competitive mom in Conquest) and he’ll be good to go.

@@ryangallagher9723 In any other Fire Emblem game that would be true, but Conquest is weird. Dual strike means you can kill a lot enemies before they touch you, there are a lot of good damage mitigation skills and the Nohrian staff classes just aren't that good outside of their staff access. If conquest had a unit like Azama things might be different, but as they are, staffers are a liability unless they have good targets for offensive staves.

"Commander Mozu" was all it took to make me click on this video, she's my second favourite fates character behind Corrin Ah yes the Hinokopter cutscene, a grand reminder that Hinoka's voices from Warriors onwards are so terrible compared to how it was in fates, even despite using the same VA Conquest Lunatic...I did it once, and I've never done it again, despite the ludicrous amount of times I've played all 3 routes. I love the way you presented your units and strategies, as well as the explanations I appreciate you listing the mods in the description, I noticed a few of them in the video and was wondering about them, as I hadn't used any mods for fates beyond the gay fates mod.

This and the next map I actually like playing through straight. I was able to optimize the right side of c25 pretty hard on 0% growths with the C22 capturable onmyogi and the left side I got down pretty consistently even without a shurikenbreaker unit. Looking forward to seeing you tackle it 👍

Speaking about the melee S Rank weapons... Hagakure Blade is insane, since it gives more evade to the already evasive Swordmaster, without the crappy might of the Sunrise Katana. Waterwheel is also good, since it turns Oboro into a dual-type wall that's too bulky to kill, too fast to be doubled and gives her enough CrtAvo to not risk death. The Aurgelmir is just Eh in comparison. No insane passive buff to make it good.

Here's a few questions. Sorry if they are a bit too much. I see that you do a very large amount of reclassing and it's pretty clear how powerful it is. The issue I have is that due to the shop limits on seals I never feel like I have enough and then when I get to the third tier shop I'm too concerned about spending money on so many. How do you go about planning out seals? Do you have a strict plan from the beginning, or do you just have a rough idea of what you want to do and pop seals as you hit benchmarks instead? You mentioned in the video that having a good falconknight isn't particularly feasible. I assume it's because the few options that do have access to it have too much of an opportunity cost to access it such as how Selena probably wants to be a wyvern. Are there any good falconknights in this route? It seems like all the characters that could enjoy being a falcon would rather be something else like how Mozu And Effie are kinshi in the video. I have never had the motivation to use Arthur as anything other than a backpack. Usually people online say that he is broken because stats, trash because he gets crit, or has his best use as a backpack. I see you went through the trouble of investing time into getting him A+ with niles for that mov +1 which I assume is for Percy. Is he really as much of a pain due to low dodge as people say he is? And are you using him because you put so much investment into him while setting up for Percy that you might as well take advantage of all the ranks, supports, and skills he already has? Other than that, great video as always. I haven't commented before but I thought this was a good time for it. Love all the effort you put into your videos.

I’ll just say that by the third shop, you typically have enough money to do everything you need. Money in fates isn’t super scarce if you’ve been getting all the chests and stuff and hopefully have done the Percy paralogue

I always have a concrete plan for all of the pre-chapter-20 seals: the five Heart Seals, the three Friendship Seals, and the three Partner Seals, plus a couple of Friendship and Partner Seals I might get from paralogues. I also try to be economical when buying equipment. I forge Bronzes and the free Iron and Steel weapons, but I don’t go crazy with that; it’s cheaper to go for class-changes and use tonics than to forge a big +2 or +3. I conserve staves when possible, and I buy tonics for specific purposes, rather than just loading up every combat unit with them. It helps that I sell most of the Goddess Icons and that I play Percy’s paralogue for the money. The best Falcon Knight would be someone who has great stats and starts with a Lance rank but no bow rank-probably Selena!Sophie or Azura!Sophie. Shigure can do that too, but he has few fathers who give him good skills to use with lances (basically just Jakob). And if they’re not using the Brave Lance specifically, they’re generally better off in Kinshi. I think Arthur does well on his own, mainly because he joins when deployment is uncontested. I trained him up through chapter 11, getting S with Effie and A+ with Niles along the way. It’s a bit tricky to work on multiple supports simultaneously, so you might need an extra map or two to get that done. I benched him for a little while, then brought him to Percy’s paralogue as an Outlaw (using a Tier 2 shop Friendship Seal) and had him shoot down wyverns and stuff to get Mov +1 by the end of the map. Arthur’s innate set is good, but it’s hard to justify an early Heart Seal on him just for Elbow Room. One reason I like Arthur x Effie is that he can get to Great Knight with a Partner Seal instead, and then stick with Axe GK until the third shop opens.

10:40 Bruh, that double 8% crit from Effie, though. Another great video. Hearing you talk about why the stronger(as in might) weapons are underrated was fun. I always hear that complaint against Fates' balance- that there's no reason to not just use forged iron weapons over other weapons, but that's not the case. 29:31 Huh. That is a fun fact. Chapter 24 is a great chapter for training units- the enemies are of surprisingly low quality for a late game Conquest chapter, and with the reinforcements, there's a large number of them, to boot. And of course, fliers take effective damage from bows, meaning that most units can pick up a few kills so long as they're using a bow, even if they have low strength. The Dragon Veins on this chapter also help, allowing the player to completely control the Falcon and Kinshi Knights, making them nearly a non-threat. 37:47 Wait, WHAT?! Now all of a sudden a bunch of Fates' jargon about "effective speed" makes way more sense to me now. Not to mention stuff like Excalibur's +/-5 effective speed effect. That's good knowledge to have.

All I ever do on your Conquest videos is learn! Conquest is the only Fire Emblem that I like going back to replay. I still haven't completed a Lunatic Run of Conquest even after playing through the game 3 times (2 on Lunatic.) My first Lunatic stopped at Chapter 26. I still have the File and every now and then I go back to it, but my Corrin there is just so under prepared. I do have a Miracle Midori build going though. However! This time I'm trying Magic Corrin with Nosferatu tanking and it's soooo good. I'm preparing to transfer him to Dark Knight. As a matter of fact I'm preparing to have a lot of mounted units. I Heart Sealed Nina after she learned pass and I'm preparing to do the same for Soleil out of her Hero class. Soleil has Sol, but she's going to be in E Rank Bows. Still she has the strength to kill here. I have Shigure but his Strength is so low as a Kinshi Knight since he didn't go through Archer path. Still I have a plan for this map and I can't wait to enact it. I forget if Heart Seals go on sale, but if they do I'm waiting until they do before going forward with this. This Lunatic Run started at the beginning of the year and I stopped twice, but your videos brought me back into it and got me past Ch 23. So now on Chapter 24 I'm seeing which of those strategies you used I can modify for my own stuff. It's just sooo endless with this game.

The segments where you argue for purchasing silver bows and also the weapons that reduce the attack by half were really interesting, as well as the general theory on what makes a unit are always really interesting. I am curious on how you normally use Arthur, and what you would do instead for effie's build if not kinshi. I know they are good but they always just drop off for me and I never end up using them

Effie really wants some of the Archer skills from a Mozu Friendship, namely Quick Draw and your choice of Certain Blow for reliability or Air Superiority for more damage-stacking against fliers (maybe even both of you plan far enough ahead on your reclasses). Beyond that, it depends on what you her to do: Want her to remain a strong but decently mobile tank? Reclass her back to Great Knight after promotion. Want her to dominate the skies while keeping her Lance rank? Kinshi Knight with Bowfair a la what you see in the video. Want her to be a frontline bruiser? An Arthur marriage gives her Berserker for tons of damage, potentially able to 1RKO the final boss with a Brave Axe, Axefair, Tonic Support, Zerk!Arthur S Support, and Puissance. Arthur is harder to explain, but based off the description of the video, it seems like getting him to move farther with Movement +1 (A+ Niles) and nabbing the Cavalier+Knight skills from Great Knight (Elbow Room in particular, and maybe Shelter as well). After that, stick him in Berserker and give him the necessary Tonics to reach the thresholds he needs to kill stuff with forged Iron and/or Hand Axes. Attack Stance supports from Effie, Niles, and Percy are also worth considering.

@@mousefire777 Any unit that can stack reclasses promotions will get both branches on a level up. Siegbert and Ignatius can also do this given the former either has Effie as a mother or befriends Iggy himself, while the latter gets it from Peri as a mother or a Ziggy Friendship. To use a non Cave/Knight example, Hinoka can also benefit from this to an extent with a Setsuna Friendship, since they can both promote into Kinshi Knight. Hinoka especially wants this since it lets her potentially stack Spear Master’s Lancefaire (she has Spear Fighter as a secondary) with Sniper’s Bowfaire to become one of your best combat units, though all of that takes a considerable amount of planning and reclassing to make work, and BR is easy enough where it’s not totally necessary. It’s still a very strong thing she can do, though.

I’ve never used it, but I find it hard to imagine that a ballistician would be very useful for long. The ballista can’t kill or even earn exp (IIRC), so I don’t think that unit would be able to keep up in terms of stats without a huge effort

I am curious as to which child units are best left to wait for Offspring seals. I realize that a major factor would be the second parent, but the canon children such as Effie!Percy, Elise!Ophelia, and Charlotte!Siegbert aside, I am mostly curious about this based on the Paralogue map and/or difficulty or just the base class of each that also factors in to the delay. Also, I feel embarrassed that I didn't catch on that Hearseeker applies for all units, not just the unit with the actual skill, as long as that unit is next to a target! Man, I have led such a simple Conquest life thus far.

I tried to complete them all before offspring seals with the help of My Castle to grind supports, but then later my characters struggled to be beefy enough to complete the later chapters. It is the access to maximum exp throughout Conquest that I think is more critical than turn count, for me at least.

Shigure and Dwyer paralogues go a long way. 10/14 or 11/14 get the same EXP as 20/9; after chapter 20, paralogue enemies are generally 20/5 or 20/6, but the cross-route kids’ maps have a number of “captains” who are 20/12.

So Zoran how do you feel about a Jakob1 setup running early seal to Paladin, marry Sam!Corrin for MoA, heart seal to MoA and run Vantage/LnD, then using the C13 seal to go back to Great Knight. Still leaves Swordmaster as an option for Swordfaire for more damage stacking, but that leaves you with a Kodachi for 1-2 range. You can train axes/swords and that's good coverage because Hand Axes against Ninjas. Lets you pass Vantage/LnD to Kana and Dwyer early too, and Fem!Corrin can still run a magic build by friendship with Nyx for a vantage sorc that way, or even friendship Camilla/Beruka for the same setup on a malig knight.

@@Zoran501 Yeah its definitely seeming like it will fall off because of how much physical bulk enemies have, and Jakob being unable to stack LnD with Trample and Swordfaire isn't great because of the high abundance of Ninjas/Falcons, but the children should be able to hit the thresholds right? Mag Corrin with Sam talent will let Dwyer have a magic stat, promote into strategist for tome exp, swap to great knight for shelter/elbow room, then friendship Percy to go Malig for trample Then Kana can just use Levin Sword/Dragonstone since those have high as hell mt and just stay as a Nohr Noble, and pickup swordfaire later. Marry Sophie for Cav skills (elbow room), then friendship Percy himself for the same Malig setup, just going back to Nohr Noble to end it off in a magic class that uses swords?

@@Zoran501 I imagine you promoted her rather early? If I remember correctly chapter 20 paralogues have level 6 six enemies, so how much exp is charlotte getting if she's hitting Level 14? Axefaire Siegbert definitely sounds awesome, my Charlotte tends to backpack Xander all the time. Maybe you could do a video on Charlotte. I love the deep analysis, it's incredible how deep Conquests gameplay is. Keep up the great work!

There’s not an overall continuity to my Conquest stuff-it’s not all one particular playthrough. The playlist is just organized by chapter.

I use Citra. It runs pretty well if you have a good CPU and a non-AMD graphics card. (AMD’s drivers for the graphics API that Citra uses are really bad on Windows; I’m told they’re better on Linux and Mac.) The weapon sprites are part of the “Fates Icon Project” mod linked in the description.

How did you get tome faire for ophelia? I know that you S rank her with Corrin but didn't he have the mage talent that only gives him Sorcerer and Dark Knight

in essence, because ophelia already has access to the dark mage class line corrin marriage gives her access to the hoshidan counterpart to it, which is the diviner line - hence onmyoji + tomefaire

That was a custom edit to one of the asset packages (like the ones affected by the promotion textures pack) that I made myself, making Javelins use the model for Peri’s Lance
