18:34 To give a brief explanation for those curious about Krampus: He's a goat-man... thing in folklore who would go with Santa during Christmas/Yuletide, and was basically the holiday boogeyman. If you were good during the year, Santa would give you gifts. If you were naughty, Krampus would scare you and chase you with a bushel of sticks while threatening to whack you with them. How severe he is depends on the writer/storyteller, but he's more or less the living embodiment of getting a lump of coal in your stocking. To that end, Nicol Bolas and Krampus aren't all that alike. While scary and mean, Krampus is genuinely just punishing those who weren't kind to others during the year. Bolas, on the other hand...

For those of you who might point out Melissa's play at 44:55 - Melissa could have tapped the ornithopter for mana before declaring attackers, which wasn't sequenced perfectly in game but the same effect was achieved. What happened at 47:05? Was that a take-back that was supposed to be edited out? Card is not on the battlefield for the rest of the turn cycle, then returns at 51:25? I do see Airball tapped sol ring and signet but the take-back spell was never announced again. Using the take-back card a turn earlier would have been much much better, extended play for entertainment reasons?

I am consistently surprised at how useful that Sarkhan is, even in a deck that barely leans into dragons at all (the deck has a few sources of Dragon tokens) getting 8 power in the air for only 5 mana is a bit absurd, it's a great play after you wipe the board (again). Getting that sweet, sweet second Dragon feels incredible, I'd go so far as to say that Sarkhan the Masterless is an actively good Casual card.

I love Eriette, and keep waffling on whether or not to build her, solely because every Eriette deck I've seen is a carbon copy of each other (that, and I already have multiple enchantment decks). That said, this was a lot of fun to watch; I'm actually considering building Zedruu, though it's not generally my playstyle. Excellent show as always, stay amazing!

Rulesquestion: 29:19 -Eidolon was cast with his alternate casting cost as an Aura targeting Dawn Evangel -Dawn Evangel gets removed while Eidolon was on stack -Eidolon resolves anyway as if it was cast for its normal casting cost In my mind, Eidolon would have fizzled since the target was not there anymore when it resolves. But since a wotc employee does it i wanted to make myself sure about that. Was it a mistake or is it something you could to?

FYI in short about the Krampus topic: We in central europe get our presents from the Christkind (german for child crist/baby jesus) on the 24th of december. Wheras Saint Nicolas is celebrated on the 6th and Krampus is his comanion that will take the children to hell if they were naughty across the year, if they bowever, behaved well they get presents from Saint Nicolas.

Krampus comes up with st. nicolaus, so the good kids get presents from nicolaus, but the bad ones getting hit by Krampus. and if you fear to get beaten up by a satan-looking demon being, you dont want to be a bad kid xD Germany has some christmas markets where you find Krampus cosplayers and even a Krampus Parade ^^

So here's a fun combo for you. Nicol Bolas God Pharaoh and Displacer Kitten. If you hit a non creature with Pharoah you get to blink him and do it again.

It didn’t effect the game at any point but technically goaded creatures can’t attack planeswalkers so the goaded glimmer Bairn shouldn’t have been able to swing at Narset but that would have just reordered attackers not change results. Thought I’d point it out but really enjoyed the episode.

Correct me if im wrong but airball uses the -2 on vronos twice at 52:08 but vronos only has one activation. The chain veil only works on planeswalkers you control at time of activation

That's intuitive but isn't actually how the card works. The Gatherer page says: " Because the last ability modifies the rules of the game, it affects not only planeswalkers you control when it resolves, but also planeswalkers that come under your control later in the turn."

Technically The Glimmer Baron was not allowed to swing at the Narset because it was goaded and Goad makes you swing at a player so you can't swing at Planeswalkers with Goaded Creatures

Can anyone explain to me why Melissa attacked Nerdgirl with Craterhoof et al rather than Airball? There was enough damage to take Airball out and then Nerdgirl would have lost from drawing from drawing from an empty library. I’m not sure if I missed something in the gameplay or have misunderstood!

Spoilers: watch the episode first . . . . . . . . . . . Melissa was between a Rock and a hard place. She could only kill 1 opponent. She had 0 chance of beating nerdgirl's current board and she didn't realize hairball had lethal in the grave; and even if she did her only option was to king make. If she attacked hairball at all or killed his bolas then nerdgirl wins by board state. If she kills nerdgirl then airball wins. Even if she left all her mana open and passed there was a good chance airball would still have killed both of them. So basically her only option was to hope airball didn't see lethal

@@williamshie4326nerdgirl had the Heliod land so she could bring an enchantment from her graveyard to the top of her library at her upkeep so she would not draw from an empty library. She would be able to keep doing that for as long as she had enchantments in her graveyard.

There used to be a "Planeswalker Uniqueness" rule but that has been changed to a similar ruling to the legend rule. All planeswalkers are legendary, but as long as they don't have the same name, you're good. See rule 306.4 for details.

Our team handles the deck building. The guest only need to share a deck list with us. And after the show we use the decks for a few patron games and then break the decks back down. No one is asked to give away hundreds of dollars on the show. :p
