Lmao Commander is a lot like when I was growing up at a Christian elementary school and we weren’t allowed to play with our Magic or Yugioh or Pokemon cards so we would have imaginary duels where we could topdeck just about anything we felt like. Commander feels janky but then you realize it’s just what it feels like to compete as a God.

In MTG, each effect in a stack (chain Link) resolves individually. So WoF is cast and goes on the stack. Another card is cast and resolves. Before WoF can resolve another card is played trying to counter it. A 3rd card is cast to try and counter that 2nd card A 4th card is cast affecting the counter That effect resolves casing another counter card. TLDR. You can cast spells between resolutions of effects in a Stack/Chain Link

I love counter wars. I remember one time me and a friend was playing RtR/Theros standard, I had Azorious control and he was playing Bant control. We got into a counter war that involved 9 cards, mix of counterspells and some bounce spells. I won the counter war and his Prophet of Kruphix did not resolve and it was worth it.

One of the most fun games I've ever played was a 12 person round robin where we were playing whatever cards we could get our hands on. Nothing was ever broken, but I ran Tefaris Puzzle Box along with Ensnaring Bridge and self hand removal. No one could attack as my hand was always empty, but I would just constantly toss cards from my library into the graveyard, including Gaea's Blessing, which has the secondary effect of "when this card is put into your graveyard from your deck, shuffle your graveyard into your library". I lost the match, but my god was it fun.

Had a similar counterspell war. I had possibility storm out and two people were just casting any instants in their hand to try and rng into counters. The stack got 6 spells deep (5 counters plus the originalspell). I love possibility storm so much.

People forget that during the events of Lotr Sauron does have a physical body, it’s just in the movies he’s depicted as a floating eyeball. In reality he uses the Palantíri to see great distances and the eye of Sauron is merely a symbol of Sauron’s all seeing not an actual eyeball. So dropping the one ring into the ocean doesn’t fix the issue of Sauron being back, only delaying it, although it would limit his power.

This reminds me of a game I played. I'm using colorless artifact goodstuff, I have a Mystic Forge out with LIberator to give all my artifacts flash, and Mycosynth Golem so everything is basically free. My opponent Jin-Gitaxias flips and does the draw, with Psychic Corrosion out. What happens is as follows: He draws 7 cards. We each have to mill 14. However, because Psychic Corrosion is an effect that procs off of each individual card drawn, while everyone just mills, what i have to do is check my top with Mystic Forge. If it's an artifact creature, I can play it. If not, mill 2. Check this again for each individual trigger. I ended up getting like 6 creatures out this way and I still lost because they all came in tapped due to something, I forgot but it was all the Jin player's fault XD

As a yugioh player I have no idea what just happened because it looks like cards resolved during the chain but they added more cards to the chain before it ended? Can someone explain

In magic the chain is called the stack. if you have priority, you may continually add cards at instant speed to the stack until you pass priority and subsequent players do the same. When a card resolves players may add more instant spell card to the stack in the same way above and resolve backwards even though there are still more cards yet to resolve in the stack. So for example if you have 3 cards on the stack then spell 3 resolves and players can add more( resolving those first ) or pass then spell 2 will resolve. If a player adds more then those spell will resolve backwards until we allow spell 1 to resolve.

Wheel of Fortune was the card that taught me to play Magic for what the outcome will be; not what the card says. I was playing Ravager Affinity during Mirrodin block, and my buddy that taught me MtG told me to put one in my SB. I read the card and asked, "Why would I want to discard my hand on T3?" He said, "Stupid, how many cards do you usually have left in your hand on T3?" 🤯

Wild Evocation + Possibility Storm + Hivemind. I Randomly cast into Show and Tell, then Possibility Storm into jokulhaups. Everyone drops 3 cards from hands Everyone drops an Omniscience as one of their 3 and the others are just random creatures. ALL OF THIS on my upkeep

@@ttkrystal8329 Well, in that case, kinda. A lot of common hand traps here. In general, unless you’re playing strict meta - you do have to read the cards. Point being, I play better decks than blue eyes. Try reading a modern yugioh card, you cannot possibly memorize every meta card.
