Truthfully, I can't decide between each one here which I liked more. And I doubt I'm the only one who feels that way. Saskia and Ydris did not get nearly enough plays to show off their power, but Breya and Atraka feel almost too good to ever run in a casual game of commander unless you forced yourself to only play voltron with them (which is still pretty viable). What I really regret not seeing is the Group Hug deck because I've found my meta needs at least one such deck playing at all times in order to ensure games actually end. But not from any one player gaining the upper hand, rather that when everyone can play all the spells things tend to finish up very quickly. I really wanted to see how that type of deck held up in Commander Versus.

I'm too split between decks for my favorite. Straight out of the box, probably Yidris because I love storm and cascade. Most interested to build with is Atraxa. But then Breya is second in both categories.

what I love the most about this series is that even after everything nobody is mad or "salty" everyone is laughing making jokes talking about it. this truly exemplifies what commander should be. a group of friends sitting down and enjoying some magic the gathering which sometimes I have to remind people is a FUN thing and not something you should be pissed about when you lose especially commander. we had a guy we banned from a commander league because he would rage when his deck lost and we targeted him because he did really overpowered stuff from the start.

see the problem is also when you have that one guy who is just pissing you off after winning or during the game because he is winning. Like he would get all up in your face or constantly bring it back up over and over just to piss you off of one mistake or just sheer of no luck.

so I did as Justin said, I paused and subscribed right then. first time I visit the channel and I love it. great game all around. My wife and I started playing Magic about a month ago and when I saw the commander format it immediately grabbed my attention. I am going to eventually buy the Breya deck since I have always loved artifact decks but after watching this video I am definitely picking this one up. Kudos to Johnathan for the win.

I have a pretty good deck idea, use Tana and Sidar, then have a bunch of green and red boost spells. Have white cards for def, then use Sidar to get Tana under a person's defence and then boost it to say 7/7 double strike. then you get 14 1/1 tokens

Jeremy was perfect with Atraxa, being a green main I know the little tricks you can do with green decks and I'm glad Jeremy can see those subtle changes green can do. Most people see green as power houses but they affect the board in so many more ways.

Loved the Artifact synergy. There was a missed trigger on Atraxa when that creature was supposed to put a +1/+1 on creatures with flying. Please play the group hug deck? Maybe all of you playing it versus each other???

I liked what i saw from Yidris that half way through the video I pre-ordered it. I still think Atraxa is the coolest just because of how awesome she looks but I really like how strong all the decks seem with no adjustments. Cant wait till i have enough money to buy them. I have an idea for a commander versus episode. It goes back to the block format you all did awhile ago. Except in this case you pick a 2 or 3 color commander and then starting with that card's block you chose a color from that block and you can only get cards that are artifacts, colorless spells and that color from that block. Then you all get to pick two to three more blocks (or sets if you wanna limit choices and make the process faster) and can only have one color from each block (or set). It is overly complicated but would produce some very random and fun to watch decks.

I personally really like the Saskia deck, and I was given the idea of a token/lifegain/masochism deck where you choose yourself with her ability, get Darien on the field and a few Soul Sisters cards like Warden and Attendant and get back 2, 3, 4 life for every 1 lost. or just swarm Gahiji style with an Ankle Shanker and win that way. Might be a fun way to pay when y'all revisit these decks!

Breya has so many upgrades that wouldn't cost much. Definitely saw what I thought I would see in this match. These two decks have the best synergy without upgrades. I'd be interested to see if the other two can be upgraded to the point they can synergize as much. Looking forward to seeing the partners played though! What a cool thing.

This was awesome. I think the Breya deck is the strongest one but Stephens deck seemed like it has the beats. Atraxa I feel looks the weakest even though she is awesome but in the game most people didn't attack Jeremy because they couldn't but it feels like his deck can't deal with Fast Aggro unless you play your general and block to kill whatever is attacking. Great video as always and I can't wait till I get my 2 sets of 5. Looking forward to seeing the Group Hug one in action.

Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder gives me dreams of additional combats, double strike, and copying the trigger with Strionic Resonator, and then cascading seven times off a Maelstrom Wanderer. He's an Ogre Wizard too, which is just fabulous.

Of the four, Breya really impressed me. I thought she was very underwhelming originally but the value you get from her puts you in a great place. My favorite is the group hug one though. Can't wait to see it in action.

Atraxa was really cool. Being able to poliferate every turn is super powerful. The effect reminds me of meren which can also go directly in Atraxa if you wanted too. If you really wanted focus on the four color creatures, taking out the partner commanders and adding cards that enhance the four color commanders would be best. For Atraxa, more counters plus more ways to poliferate would be better then the partners. Just putting one counter on Atraxa herself can be brutal since you can constantly make it bigger. I can see potentially make Atraxa a voltron commander simply for the fact that she can fly and she doesnt tap when she attacks. She doesnt have a way to protect herself, but there are cards out there that can support her.

Atraxa and Yidris have taken my interest, Breya is also a very strong deck. I can see it used with Sharuum and in a flicker deck. Those decks look a lot of fun, and I hope that the Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck does see some play.

If you are going to do the same with these decks as you did with prior pre-conscructed decks, that is replaying them after costumizing them, I'd suggest that you raise the usual budget for additions, in order to allow you to have a better mana base, seeing as these are four-coloured and really colour-intense commanders/decks. Of course if you find out that there's no real problem with a budget mana base and the decks can run just fine, all the better

My favourite definitely has to be Atraxa, purely due to the flexibility of proliferate. I have a Mimeoplasm +1/+1 counter reanimator deck and a Derevi stax/tokens/planeswalkers deck - I'm very tempted to somehow mash the two together.

Hey all! Just a quick question: at 1:38:18 , How did Jonathan kill Jeremy's Ojutai Dragonspeaker? I know normally if you give a creature -4/-4 and it has a lower base-toughness than 4 it will die, but the Dragonspeaker had a ton of +1/+1 counters on it. How did it not survive with all the counters??? I'm still learning all the subtle rules on the cards still to this day.

It died because he had declared Ishai as a blocker. It received damage while blocking, killing the other creature. It then gained another few +1/+1 counters from spells jonathan cast, but the -4/-4 still brought its toughness below zero. Remember, any damage dealt to a creature lasts until the end of the turn.

Trilaina Bloodwind I believe it already took combat damage from blocking his attacking creature. That damage isn't 'healed' until the end step of the current turn.

Both atraxa and ydris didnt get to the crazy shenanigans that the stock deck can do! I love these decks, and they got me to start playing commander again :)

Really tough to choose between these four :( Was initially lukewarm on Saskia, but have turned around on her as the aggro lord. Breya is a combo monster with all the artifact value. Ydris seems insane in a storm build, while at the same time providing so much random fun. And finally Atraxa can play in so many ways! Super friends, check. Infect, check. +1/+1 matters, check. 4C control, check. Voltron, check. These are probably the best generals since the shards (Commander 2013), but the decks themswelves are hands down the best of all the commander products (Well maybe except the OG sets, but that is a toss up). In the end I gotta go with Atraxa :) Love Bant and if I should add a 4th color then it would likely be black.

I mainly got Atraxa because I'm crazy for angels. but the deck is extremely effective and much faster than I expected. the commander of course is ridiculous and with cards like corpsejack menace and hull clade the cards get so big so quickly. very happy with my choice

Atraxa is easily my favourite. Already got a darettideck so breya doesn't appeal as much. But just spewing out counters is always fun, and you get to use all your dice for once :)
