Same here. Played in the mid to late 90s; sold all those cards a few years ago, and uh... bought a house. Had no magic cards apart from a 2019 "game night" box set that i kept unopened "just in case." well, three weeks ago that was still the only magic thing i owned; today I have 4 LotR commander precons, both midnight hunt, both crimson vow, rebellion rising and more token creatures than i think i will ever use. Still trying to convince my teenage children to give this a go, haven't even played yet.

For Brian: I think that actually the treasure token has a barrow blade on it, which is another of the Tales of Middle Earth team’s flavour wins. At the end of Chapter VIII of Fellowship, “Fog on the Barrow Downs”, when Tom Bombadil rescues the hobbits from the Great Barrow, he goes back into the Barrow to get some of its treasure. He places it on top of the mound the Barrow is under and says that he does so in the hopes that someone will come and find it and take it away, because that will stop the barrow wights coming back. So, it then makes sense that treasure tokens, which are meant to be removed (from mounds or, in the MtG case, the battlefield), should have barrow blades (presumably whole little troves of barrow treasure) on them.

Yet another great episode! Nice deck choice for Brian to start as the bad guy. Vikings fan here, Kluwe came to MN around the time I started actually paying attention to nfl. He made weekly appearances on the local rock radio morning show and even talked about nerdy stuff. Awesome to see Chris getting into guesting on gameplay videos! Fantastic 😂 I played Sauron myself and also Subjugated the Hobbits, then I was turned against by the table in which my board was cleared but I landed the Living Death with Sauron in graveyard but in the end I could not beat 3 players so our game ended up very flavorful and we absolutely love this set. Next night though is my upgraded Sauron using The Dark Lord instead 😈😆
