I think Sluurk with a partner of Reyhan puts you in good colours and has a fun mechanical theme of the slimes "recombining" as they get eliminated - the slime can't be stopped!

If you wanna go with Golgari I think Umori is a good choice since it reduces your slime cost to just 2 mana. Throw in an emerald medallion and one or two more cost reducers like a cloud key to be more consistent with the cost reduction and you can cast them for just 1 green. You can also play a lot of ramp sorceries because they just get discounted aswell. In addition Umori is a slime too :D

With black you can probably make a close-to CEDH deck using cards like lost legacy, surgical extraction, memoricide or stain the mind to exile a couple dozen copies and still have a bunch left to cast

So many great ideas! One thing I want to point out though is that Garruk's Uprising won't draw you a card when the Slime Against Humanity creates an ooze, because it checks for power 4 or greater before the counters are put on the 0/0 ooze.

sry thats wrong because creatures that "enters with" counters will have them from the moment they enter the battlefield "Static ability" .if not ooze would die immediately, because it has 0/0 stats. it has nothing to do with triggered or activated abilities.

I believe it doesn't work. When the spell is resolved, the 0/0 token is created, then the +1/+1 are placed. When the spell finishes resolving to check the sba, the creature already has counters and doesn't die. but the etb is from a 0/0 creature.

This was the commander pair I landed on as well! I think Krark's ability to double the value of each instant or sorcery card (at the cost of mana), works very well with Slime Against Humanity's perpetual scaling.

I'm surprised that falco spara, pactweaver didn't make a mention. He misses out a bit from red or black, but playing from top of library for low cost of a counter seems like a great way to chain through spells while still getting access to cost reducers through blue.

You could totally play Illuna, Apex of Wishes: " Flying, trample Whenever this creature mutates, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland permanent card. Put that card onto the battlefield or into your hand. " Exiles a bunch of SAH (Slime against humanity) and then put out one of the many busted combo enchantments or artifacts, increasing your SAH count by exiling and getting a busted card. Not to mention your turn a SAH slime into a 6/6 commander still with the +1/+1 Counters but giving it Flying and Trample too!? It then makes your deck Red Green Blue like you were saying which works great.

A cost reducer I don't see mentioned is Locket of Yesterday. Normally a pretty crap card especially in Commander. It reduces the cost of a spell by the number of copies in your graveyard. If you have 1 it's {1}{G} if you have 2 it's {G}. It actually seems pretty easy to get it to just {G} and then you can tutor it up easily with something like Urza's Saga or various other artifact tutors.

If I was gonna build a Sultai version of the list I'd probably go Mimeoplasm for giggles - still an ooze, and having access to the necrotic ooze + asmodeus combo in the command zone (once you get asmodeus in grave) seems pretty useful for the card draw, especiall if you add sheoldred or some other way of going at least neutral on your card draw life payment (and/or psychosis crawler to drain your opponents as well)

I actually think that this is funniest in standard with Arcane Bombardment. Because Slimes Against Humanity counts in exile, every copy exiled to Bombardment counts for each copy you get with Bombardment. In EDH, we get Spellweaver's Helix, so you can do something similar.

I brewed up a spellslinger list using Rograkh and Thrasios, mainly just to make Fury Storm and Font of Magic more powerful. Some inclusions that I thought were really good: Invasion of Segovia, Rod of Absorption, Ram Through, Golden Ratio, and Epic Experiment. Thanks for the video!

Great video I have a rat colony deck in paper and A dragons approach deck brewed on moxfield. I do want to build this deck. I like the idea of Xyris with wheels and spell slinging, filling the graveyard, casting, drawing cards, making slimes, and having a good time. I think that's what I'm leaning toward. In my mind I was thinking about Ghave, Adrix and Nev, or Reyhan and Ishai.

I like the idea of running Illuna, Apex of Wishes as a commander. If you mutate the commander onto a slime token, you can flip through your deck until you find thrumming stone. And with all of greens classic ramp cards, you can build the deck in such a way that it is your only non-land permanent card. From there, I'm sure you can find some silly way to deal lethal with every single slime on board

I just built this and you can get pretty crazy with it! Not only will Illuna potentially have commander damage on board, but I also included a Simic Ascendency in the deck (I don't have enough non-permanents for proper build) which is actually what won me my first game! Another fun Temur card is Song of Creation, since you draw two cards each time you cast a spell. It's still being tested but it's looking really good so far!

I've brewed up a Falco for the potential "draw", Jinnie Fay for the large spam of hasty cat tokens with +1/+1 counters, and Illuna to get 1 of 8 perms from deck, banking on thrumming stone. Just thought chatterfang might be a fun build for it. Buffed squirrel army fighting with buffed slimes. Seems fun.

I'm looking at running a Jund Reyhan + Alena partners deck for the slimes. Get them as big as possible then benefitting off of the huge attack stats with alena tapping into a big X spell, Dementia Altar milling someone to death, or various fling effects to basically one-shot people. Since the slimes have trample, Triumph of the Hordes is a pretty simple backup wincon as well

I personally am gonna try for an Old Stickfingers helmed deck. Self-mill and forcing oozes into our GY, mostly to thin out the creatures and tutor the Thrumming Stone as the central win-con, but just good ol' consistent linear tramplers otherwise.

How about Codie? "Cascade" into Surgical Extraction seems good, plenty of other good cards to hit off a 3 mana spell and you could easily hit the Slimes off of some more expensive spells. Perhaps some land searchers like Reap and Sow to find that Cradle you'd love to put into play and a guaranteed hit of the Extraction could also make Codie very predictable.

Garruks uprising and elemental bond actually don't work with slimes against humanity since the tokens enter with 0 power and then get counters but tribute to the worldtree works just fine cause it triggers whenever a creature etbs regardless of its power

I've seen several people mention this so I need to double check, does Parallel Lives actually work with Slime Against Humanity? I assumed that, with the way Slime is worded, only the original Slime will get any counters, then the copies will die upon resolution of the spell since they're 0/0

Yes it does - when you create an additional token it’s created with the exact same properties including number of counters

the key here is whether it's created in play or on the stack. If something needs to be in play to copy it, like Riku, it doesn't work with 0/0 slimes. But if the copies are created on the stack they're created with all the same properties.

So ive actually been playing a build in Jund since the card was spoiled. What ive found is that the "exile them from the deck" strat is actually kind of bad. The issue is you start seeing a lot less of thr slimes and it makes all your other cards in the deck, that are based around getting value from SAH, much worse. You tend to peter out if the opponent has anytbing to handle your few slimes

I’m pretty sure doubling season does create an extra slime token, but it won’t put X counters on the second token, because it’s a different line of text, so it’ll be a 0/0. I might be wrong though

Doubling season will put the +1/+1 counters on the second token as well. even tough they are separate instructions (creating a token and putting +1/+1 counters) the second instruction is referring to the first by "putting counters on it..." the "it" means all tokens that were created by the first instruction (see also C.R. 614.6)

parallel lives and other token doublers don't work with slime, do they? I think they double the amount of 0/0 tokens but those extra tokens don't get counters put on them. So they would all die unless you have something that makes them enter with counters like tribute to the world tree.

Short answer, they do work, and you are mistaken about the counters. Longer answer, Parallel Lives and similar are replacement effects, and replacement effects modify how events occur, but only the specific things that they state they affect. Parallel Lives only modifies how many tokens are created, and everything else happens to those tokens like normal. Does the token-making effect put counters on the created token? Cool, put those counters on every token created. What about conditions such as entering tapped or having a delayed trigger that removes the token later? Yes, these all get applied to every token created with the effect. So in the case of Slime Against Humanity, Parallel Lives would change the event to this: "Create two 0/0 green Ooze creature tokens with trample. Put X +1/+1 counters on [everything that was created], where X is two plus the total number of cards you own in exile and in your graveyard that are Oozes or are named Slime Against Humanity." I swapped out "it" for "everything that was created" to help emphasize that "it" isn't really referring to a single token, just whatever happens to be created with the effect. This even applies to tokens that aren't normally created by the effect being added by a replacement effect. If you were to use something like Chatterfang instead, which creates an additional squirrel token alongside the base token, the extra squirrel token would also get those counters.

With replacement effects like doubling season you are just taking whatever effect is creating the tokens and creating twice as many through the effect. So you would create x 0/0 ooze tokens and then apply any other effects if the card to each token. In this case putting +1's in them. That is why adrix and nev were created to lead the fractal structure, with fractals operating the same as the SaH tokens

I dont think token doublers would work. It would create an additional 0/0 slime that would imidiatelly die. A lot of brewers are missing this fact, additional tokens don't get the counters clause because its on the sorcery, not the token itself. Or am I wrong?

The counters are added to the tokens as part of resolving Slime Against Humanity, so the token doublers will see SAH make tokens, and SAH will see that its Ooze tokens it created get counters as it resolves.

I took the best of both worlds and built mine with Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder at the helm. so far it is testing great. just a few more tweaks and ill buy it. It also helps that i got lucky and managed to get 24 copies of SAH for fifty cents a piece.

Curiously, doubling season doesn't double the effect that adds counters, only the counters. So you get two 0/0s and one effect that puts X+2 +1/+1 counters. One dies, the other is doubled.

That's not how that works. If a replacement effect causes an effect to create extra tokens and the effect does something to those tokens (give abilities, give counters, create a delayed trigger to sacrifice the token later, etc.), it applies to every token created, not just one of them. The "it" in the text "Put X +1/+1 counters on it..." is interchangeable with the text "tokens created by this effect", so effects like Doubling Season and Chatterfang don't need to modify anything other than what tokens are created for the extra tokens to get any bonuses.

Of all the slime against commanders i've considered (proliferate) atraxa seems to be my favorite. I wouldn't go storm, but resiliancy. Ozolith, resourceful defence, and reyhan can bank and even multiply your counters from sacked or removed ooze tokens. Slurrk can do something similar. Add some counter doublers and good to go.

Me and someone at the prerelease gushed about having a Slime Against Humanity deck with Riku as the commander, throwing in things like Mizzex’s Mastery Wort the Raid Mother Twincasters And Edgin, Larcenous Lutenist (since he can make your Slimes cheaper by Foretelling them, with the ones in exile still counting towards the other copies)
