The rpo family play types are also great at getting necessary yards and controlling TOP when our defense is bad. Tom Brady used to use them a ton in games where they couldn’t run in NE. So they would be the extension of the run game. The goal being get 3 or 4 yards like you would with a run or draw down defenses due to them trying to stop it. This would help NE who didn’t always have a good true number 1 receiver.

No game where you force terry targets is going to be very efficient. What makes a great receiver like JJ or chase is they win on their own and you compliment that with a few designed plays. Terry doesn’t win enough on his own to make targeting him constantly a good or easy plan for an average or young qb. Now could a good/ great experienced qb hot route him at the line sometimes? Yes, but we haven’t had that really.

The biggest difference with Terry and others is how he catches the ball. He’s a body catcher he isn’t going to snatch ball out the air like a Jefferson or Nabers which probably plays a role in how you can position him Ex. The sideline catch he had this past week, shouldn’t have been that difficult, go watch Diggs Sunday night, a hands catcher and how the ball doesn’t need to be perfect, but he will get it
