Commando movie reaction. Check out Coby Connell's first time watching Commando reaction.
Released in 1985, Commando added to Arnold Schwarzeegger's resume as one of the greatest rising Action Stars of our time - co-starring Alyssa Milano, Rae Dawn Chong, Bill Duke, Dan Hedaya, and David Patrick Kelly. And, of course, another great cameo from one of our favorites, Bill Paxton!

I recommend "Three Days of the Condor" 1975. "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" 1974. "Vanishing Point" 1971. That mall is the Sherman Oaks Galleria, most famously used in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Terminator: 2".

The actress in this (Rae dawn chong) was in a film Called "QUEST FOR FIRE." It is a "bucket list" film ! It's about early man (Homo sapien and neanderthal) and their quest for fire. It was groundbreaking when released. It won academy, bafta, genie, cesar, and saturn awards. (Also stars Ron pearlman) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

First Blood (Rambo) and Commando will not remain in the same category after you have seen them both. Commando is an entertaining but somewhat silly action movie. First Blood is a next-level film with something serious to say. Don't read too much into that. Commando is fun and great. But if I had to live in a world without either Commando or First Blood and the choice was mine, John Matrix would have to go.

Vet here. Can confirm First Blood is a powerful movie. If any movie is a good reminder not to underestimate the acting of meatwagons like Stalone, it's that one. Arnold... " End of Days" is the most serious acting he's done and that movie started with him pounding a leftover pizza and beer smoothie for breakfast...so...ya know enjoy him for dad-joke level one-liners and placing claymores the wrong direction.

This is the quintessential action movie that only ask that you shut your brain off for the duration and just enjoy the ride. As this movie is as outlandish as they come, but it is a fun ride, as most of the stunts have no basis in reality. I had kids in my elementary school that I was more afraid of than Bennett, and along side Arnold, you just can't take it seriously. That being said, I've seen this movie more than I can count, and the one liners are the stuff of legend. Not Arnold's best movie, but most certainly one of the most entertaining.

Commando is the 80's action movie turned up to 11. It knows exactly what it is, leans into it hard, and has no pretensions to be anything else. One difference from most movies of its type is that Cindy, the female lead, is actually useful - capable, confident, and keeps her head in a crisis - rather than the useless screaming bimbos that you see in many films.

Coby, the composer for this film score was the late great James Horner, famous for doing scores for films such as Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan, Aliens and Titanic. This was early in his career and is quite similar to the score he did for 48 Hours or at least the steel drums are.

This is the quintessential '80s action B-movie, one of the few that managed to hold up. Also a great way to let off some steam. :D It’s funny that Coby mentioned she liked seeing Arnold in a more regular-guy role, because that’s exactly why he took the part. After three Conan movies and The Terminator, he wanted to avoid being typecast in those kind of roles. So he took this one because he got to play an "average" guy fighting to save his daughter. For me, this never gave the Bond or spy movie feeling. However, another one of his films, True Lies, definitely taps into that genre quite a bit.

...and so began the friendly rivalry between Arnold and Sylvester. That and of course the countless parodies. Thank you for watching this classic. You're right in that it's "fun" because of the over the topness of it all. Rae Dawn Chong is the daughter of Tommy Chong.

The main bad guy, I forget his name at the moment. I think Dan maybe his first name. He was on a sitcom in the early 2000's called Yes Dear. It was pretty funny in my opinion. A lot of great guests over the seven or more seasons. My nickname in high school was due to this movie. 😂😂😂

After some criticism following this film Arnold realized he had to get better scripts and less mindless violence. Rae Dawn Chong is the daughter of Tommy Chong who was part of “Cheech & Chong” comedy duo and I recommend you view at least “Up in Smoke”.

When this came out, I thought it was beyond cheesy, and was the first film I recall having such a ridiculous amount of ammunition expended. 74,000 bullets, and none of them hit Arnie. Now I enjoy the film as an example of cheese, and a nostalgic trip. Thanks, Coby.

I grew up on Arnie movies! Even when me and all the other kids were too young for them, but that was THE EIGHTIES 😎 was not as much a Stallone fan until later. He will surprise you that he can act. Arnie just does the one liners with charisma. It’s ok to love BOTH 😍

Cindy ran after Matrix leaving the mall not just because she really wanted to know what was going on (big picture) and she knew they were now chasing her as well so she had to get outta there, but she also felt guilty about almost fucking it up for Matrix. She's not really processing it yet, but once she realizes he's 100% on the level, she's all in. He just kinda fucked up by not just telling her as they tailed Sully and playing games, giving her absolutely no reason to trust him when he does.

One of the reasons this reminds you of the Bond films is because the Bond films were the template for the modern action film. However, Bond, much like Indiana Jones, owes a lot to the movie serials of the 1930s and 40s. They just took a formula that was made primarily to entertain kids at Saturday morning matinees and transferred it action films for adults. Look at pre 60s films and they really weren't like this with one action scene after another. They were more story and character oriented. The hero vs villain with near episodic action beats is pure movie serial formula. Speaking of Bond, when are we getting On Her Majesty's Secret Service? That one will definitely surprise you.

If you want to see Arnie as James Bond, then you have to watch True Lies. A television guide at the time wrote "Arnold is the best Bond we never had."

2:44 "I Don't Recognize Anybody In This Movie, Either" Well, Coby, if you'd seen "Predator," the bald black guy is the actor who played Mac Also, if you'd watched "Mad Max 2:The Road Warrior," the actor who plays Bennett was the Mohawk wearing villain in that movie, and he reprised that role in "Weird Science"
