After presumably wasting those precious sniper bullets, I really wanted to know what genius plan you have for an already alarmed and up to teeth armed base, and ... I got it in a few seconds! This is madness! The timing of everything you did was sometimes close to a moment and you did it in the best way possible. Kudos!

I just love the pure carnage of SKDFZ shredding through enemies that try to shoot it with rifles :), plus at the end just slowly rowing away into the sunset as if nothing happened. They should be singing "Row, row, row your boat" as they escape ;)

That is a Panzer II. The SDKFZ-231, I had the experience of having destroyed by enemy machine guns and rifles. A tough vehicle it is, but by no means indestructible.

for me the hardest levels are level 8, because fighting half of the German army in a small confined space with only Tiny and Duke is bullshit, and the final level because it's massive

@@tali6844 8th mission feels hard at first time, but then on second run you realise it's not that difficult. But this mission is pure hell, if you want to complete it without raising alarm before reaching tank.

I remember this being one of my favorite missions when I got this at 13yo. I had just gotten a PC after playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time and was already a huge fan of C&C and Dune on console, so finding this game was like finding the holy grail of Strategy/Stealth. There was something about controlling these little guys on the screen in 1024x768 that was so satisfying with all their little gadgets and devices lol. It wasn't putting the my Voodoo 3 to good use, but I still was playing it more than a lot of the amazing PC games that I was buying between 98-2001. Hell, this year I went back and played No One Lives Forever all the way through for the first time regardless of owning it back when it came out lol

My first try v after watching this video: " This is such a long mission, after so many hours of try and dying, finally after 3-4 days i completed the mission, it was so hard to do it without pulling the alarm, but the tank was no use. But the most lengthy mission" "Dude just enjoy the boat ride shooting enemies with sniper reach the other end. get to tank and its all so easy. hardly need an hour" and most useful people sapper and green barret were least used :D Driver: Finally some action (Literally)"

I had so much fun playing this level. I didn't cheese like this video did, i took my time and kill as much guard as possible without getting the alarm off until the tank. It took a very long time, but it was quite fun to be able to kill everybody sneakily. This is the last assault style level that i can do that unfortunately. All assault type levels after this are impossible for me to kill everybody sneakily, i gave up after the assassination level. I just don't find the game as much fun when you just focus on the objective

Definitely not how I completed this mission, I can remember landing in the left corner of the map and then slowly and methodically eliminating most enemies on the map, before reaching the tank and taking out the alerted guards. Decoy and trap was used a lot. We didn't have youtube back then!

I did lots of killing silently , I used traps to eliminate the group guards one by one , but finally ended up doing the same which is taking that tank

You have to take the tank i think. I silently kill everybody up until that few guys at the last barrack. I had to use decoy to distract that guy standing at the last cannon and sneak the driver in the tank. It was more fun than just to cheese around like this person's video

Hmm, indeed it looks like the harpoon range has been reduced quite a lot since I made these videos. But based on quick testing, there should still be enough time to escape into the water even after taking the shot from a shorter range. Of course the difference may not be so easy to compensate for in other harpooning situations. I have occasionally watched other Commandos videos too, but unfortunately I haven't noticed if the levels were played with a newer Steam version.

Yes, others have also reported that the harpoon range is smaller in the more recent versions of the game that are available on Steam. I don't know why it changed, though.
