That girl speaks beautifully as she is. Her parents have good daughter and should be proud of her.

I beg to differ as the young woman´s utterance is not very impressive at all... she struggles to speak for a longer period of time to produce some relevant and complex ideas, which can be seen at the end of Part 1 and then in Part 2. In Part 3, she is not able to appropriately develop her partner´s idea as to going climbing and then she basically repeats what he has said before - he mentions "top executives" while she starts talking about "top managers" which is more or less the same thing. She even starts lecturing him in this regard which is sort of funny, because he brought it up in the first place. By and large, the woman cannot either deal with his rather sophisticated ideas properly, nor extend them, nor collaborate on the task in Part 3 effectively. Even though she attempts to speak for a longer period of time to show some activity and be more dominant in this part, she does not produce very well-balanced content, repeats some words (very little advanced register + grammar + discourse markers + fillers) and is generally speaking weaker of the two. With that being said, she does a really decent job in the last part (answering questions related to the collaborative task), which sort of compensates for the other parts where she could have done a lot better. And she knew it. One way or another, she might have had a bad day but I would not recommend her performance (except for the last task) as a model to follow.

But what will the examiners do if they still don't come to an agreement and then keep arguing?
@languagecampus75073 жыл бұрын
As a Cambridge Centre, we always advise students to reach an agreement even if they do not totally agree. Reaching an agreement shows you have taken time into account and have fully understood the examiner's question /demand.

That's not true, if the students do not reach an agreement the candidates won't lose marks

I like the topics they have chosen. It was everything ok, but they keep saying “I think”, they could just say another expression to demonstrate they have a large range of vocabulary, to be honest. I would like to take this exam, but I get nervous when I’m speaking and know I’m being assessed 😔

Take it from a 20-yr ESL teacher who has trained students for a wide range of exams....just try to be yourself, while keeping your target in mind. Being assessed is always somewhat taxing on your peace of mind, but once you get going with the speaking, you'll be just fine. You can do this!

i also want to know how to overcome timidity and shyness during a face-to face encounter. Often it holds me back. ☹️☹️☹️
