This really tells how engi works in mvm, just like a textbook. And even more you tell extra tips for helpful mvm gaming. Such a godly job you 're doing there as one of the very few mvm youtubers out there. Sad that there will still be dudes who will talk shit about this video. the only criticism i have is some of the building placements and not getting 2 way wave 1 or at least wave 2. 2 way is the 2nd most important engie upgrade after disp range, so its strange to see someone with 600 tours not getting it.

@@Tom-cj5wt Will be honest that's quite misconsepted. Sure 2way is a very good upgrade, but you don't really want to use wopping 250 at 1st wave where you don't have much money to upgrade other stuff, and even if you still did got the upgrade, would really wonder how many of the team will utilize it properly. Not that mean that I disagree that 2way is good~ but it's not a "Must" at the start of the way. You can give the 2way later when demo or medic starts to spam canteens.

@@wolfenoxrekalizerh.4658 sure, if the team is inexperienced then they probably wont use it at all, but if you have an experienced team then it is definitely a must have, even moreso on empire escalation where demo and medic should be going back and forth through it. The added benefit of 2 way is that it will also allow you as an engie to upgrade mid wave, particularly useful on first waves. And the only other upgrades that are worth considering wave 1 are metal capacity, but most missions you should be able to max disp range, 2 way and get 1 point of metal cap as well as an upgrade canteen. Careful positioning should eliminate the need for building hp wave 1, and you can always use the 2 way to go back to spawn and get building hp mid wave if you have enough credits, thats typically what i do

MVM Engineer tips marked points on video. 2:38 - Dispenser range support to your team. 3:26 - Save your time, quickly hold your ground (Repair Canteen maxed out all building) (Ammo Canteen refills Sentry ammo) (Crit Canteen 2x sentry's fire rate) (Uber Canteem gives protection for your sentry) 4:47/27:43 - Sentry extended "wall" (Most efficient VS Super Scouts, but this can also hold others giant bots) 6:03 - Moments when you need to hold your sentry, and when you need to release it afterwards. 7:17/19:05 - Expert Pyro bots will backfire the pain back at your team(For those who uses Short circuit besides the wrangler, don't use it near them.) [! But you can use it on the right range, where they can't reflect your projectile back, so you can block any projectiles that soldier/demo or snipers who shots at them, blocking the projectiles without any harm to your team !] 8:27 - Spawncamping them from the protection zone is useless 9:37 - Interesting fact of valve missing a feature to be fixed (Wrangler gives 10% sentry fire rate when used, so at some point, the 20% sentry fire rate is needed and not 30% if you are using short circuit, if not, just 10% is needed.) 12:19/31:44 (Tricky and Optional tip) - No time for Sentry Buster, get them out of here. Tip: when you stand on your dispencer as Engie, you get twice the metal than if you would stand next to it. For example: lvl 1: next to = 40 metal on top = 80 metal

This, is, AMAZING! I love this whole series, I love the tips, I love commentary, I love it all! Your helping some newer people out there, and teaching some of the others new tricks. Keep doing this, and multiple character play styles perhaps, and you will have helped many, many people! Also, my main tip here, try to place teleporters between both spawn doors, it means if for whatever reason If someone spawns or walks out of the other door they can still take the teleporter a bit quicker, and it won’t slow down anyone walking out the main door or spawning in the other spawn room. Very helpful.

The reason you get kicked out of the upgrade station when teammates use your teleporter is because your PDA is strange, it dosent happen with a normal PDA. So no need to deprive your teammates from there tp if no strange PDA.

There's just one tip missing for engi, and it's about getting damage boost from soldiers. Buff banner mini crits buff doesn't work on sentry if the soldier is near them, the only way to get this damage boost is being near them or if soldier stays near the engi for damage boost for your sentry gun. It's helpfull to get more DPS VS giants and to destroy expert pyros who can cause the pain in the head for soldiers more quicker.

you can place the teleporter entrance inside the spawn door if you change the angle you are placing it. Also generally I like to get 2way wave 1 if my team know what they are doing, though thats more a personally preference thing rather then actually needed.

Did you know ? The upgrade station kicks you out because you have a Strange PDA equipped. When someone use your TP, the game updates the "Teammates Teleported " stat and kicks you out.

Huh i didnt have any strange PDA but i swear i have that issue too. I think tele count as a weapon because (if im not wrong) if you use your weapon it eject you out of the menu Also not even mentioning that your tele is the only building that interact with other player directly, probably they code the tele like that so it will not messed when you actually want to upgrade your tele

17:29 this is a correct tip, but the reasoning is wrong. You must collect it not because the scout isn't doing his job, but because far-off money away from the main battlefield simply isn't the scout's job to collect. You have to collect it because you killed that robot, because the scout is probably doing more important stuff like doing damage and collecting larger sums of money on the front line. People need to know that money collection is a TEAM effort, not just the scout's job.

I never use a strange Construction PDA during MVM. Every time you dispense health or a teammates takes your teleporter, it boots you from the upgrade station.

A small correction to the advice that self damaging builds über faster: self-damaging during setup will not help the medic build über, über builds at 3 times the normal rate during setup, regardless of the health of the heal target. Build rate during setup will still decrease if there are multiple medics healing the same target.

Is there a guide to bot spawns? Something that goes over when particular bots (like the giants) spawn and which way they'll come? or have you just memorised that yourself over time

if you check to top of your screen you can see bot spawns for that wave and what they'll use if they have a glowing outline then they have crits, if they're red(?) they're giants i think there floating blue thingies point in the direction robots plan on going as for remembering when, that most likely comes after playing a few rounds of mvm
