I miss the F-14 Tomcat. I was a plane captain with VF-302 Fighting Stallions at NAS Miramar from 1990 to 1993. I'd do almost anything to live those days again.

Does anyone know if these F14’s are equipped with the P&W engines or the more powerful GE’s the later F14’s received that made about 10,000 more lbs of thrust?

The video shows an F-14B from VF-32. The F-14B used the GE engines.

What made this aircraft so feared by the rest of the world was the Phoenix missile and the radar system that controlled and fired it. Developed and tested for the SR-71. It was very expressive but it was THE most advanced missile and radar system of it's kind BAR NONE. Hughes out did themselves when they created the Phoenix missile and the radar system and fire control systems of that era.

F-14B for the external shots, F-14D for the internal shots. This looks like a combination of external footage of the 2005 Saturday show (flown in a B) and cockpit footage of the Sunday show (flown in the D).

@@hydromann1 Su-24 isn't an F-14, though. Just kidding. The Su-24 is an attack airplane. Not as maneuverable and not as optimized for air to air as the F-14 was.
