1:16:02 - Captain Rogers didn't make the same mistake as the other captain of the USS Stark, who was allowed to resign after he didn't defend himself against an attack, but he surely made all new mistakes! This is why some countries hate the US! We had all of that firepower and sophisticated weaponry, but we didn't have a civilian channel that would have allowed the military to communicate with the airplane directly! How stupid was it of the US government to contact the plane on a MILITARY channel and then shoot them because they didn't respond! That's like calling 911 by dialing 555-555-5555 and then getting mad because the police didn't respond! They weren't even communicating with the plane over the appropriate channel, which was stupid if you're going to use that inability to communicate as a reason to kill people! What military leader thought it was acceptable to have the military be unable to monitor civilian traffic? SMDH!

The Vincennes incident is such a disgrace. Everyone in the chain of command from the person who pushed the button to launch the missile all the way up to the captain should have AT LEAST been stripped of their ranks, dishonorably discharged, and handed over to the Iranian government for sentencing. Fortunately for them, war crimes don't count for the USA it seems.

I wonder if America would have remained silent about a "mistake" like this if the plane were American and the cruiser was Iranian? Why does America deploy its military bases and warships in a far-off ocean, lands that are not its concern at all? Don't you think such actions provoke governments and peoples in the Middle East? How would your reaction be as government and people if, for example Russia, Iran or any other country deploys military bases in Canada or Mexico for instance? This role of the world's policeman that America plays is what will ultimately bring America down over time. Leave the problems of distant countries to be resolved between them. If America truly stands for democracy and freedom, it should work on spreading that diplomatically and peacefully, not through force and provocation. Violence only begets more violence. How many evil and "mistakes" has America committed these past 70-80 years? and it still hasn't learned the lesson yet, as we see Biden today repeating the same scenarios. Your leaders are slowly destroying you. If you believe that such actions won't affect you, then you should reconsider and think deeply. Even THE MIGHTY ROME eventually fell. Don't follow in their footsteps. I apologize for the long rant good sir, it's not directed to you because you seem a logical person

00:19 🛫 FedEx Flight 705, en route from Memphis to San Jose, faces an attempted takeover by a former crew member, Auburn Callaway, leading to an unprecedented situation. 03:37 🛠 The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) breaker switch being turned off was a crucial anomaly, affecting the ability to record audio events aboard Flight 705, a major concern for air disaster investigations. 11:22 🤕 The crew experiences a violent attack by Callaway, using hammers and a spear gun, resulting in injuries, severe blows, and a critical struggle for control of the aircraft. 16:09 ✈ Co-pilot Tucker's daring maneuvers in response to the attack, including rolling the DC-10 to extreme angles, pushing it to its limits, and attempting to disarm Callaway in mid-flight. 26:33 🩺 After disarming Callaway, the crew, covered in blood, regains partial control of the situation, with Captain Sanders taking charge to fly the plane back to Memphis amidst injuries and extreme conditions. 29:15 🔥 The FedEx DC-10 faces a potential disaster as a hijacker tries to seize control. 30:40 🛫 Excess fuel poses a danger during the emergency landing, as it's impossible to dump it. 31:48 🤼 The crew fights to prevent the hijacker from reaching the cockpit. 37:23 💥 FedEx Flight 705 lands with only 300 meters of runway to spare after a harrowing struggle. 41:04 💰 Auburn Callaway's motives reveal financial concerns and potential suicidal intentions. 58:36 🚢 The USS Vincennes heads towards the Strait of Hormuz for the first time in action, encountering aggressive Iranian gunboats. The ship is under Commander Rogers' control, known for his robust actions. 01:01:26 🚁 Despite the Gulf's unclear visibility, Captain Rogers could open fire if the gunboats showed aggressive behavior. With a clear attack on his helicopter, he receives authorization to engage the gunboats. 01:09:10 🛫 The USS Vincennes mistakenly identifies Iran Air Flight 655 as a hostile F-14 fighter, leading to its tragic shootdown, mistaking the commercial airliner for an attacking aircraft. 01:20:03 🌍 The fatal mistake leads to the destruction of the Iranian passenger jet in an international air corridor, resulting in the loss of 290 lives, causing worldwide shock and an immediate international outcry. 01:26:58 🔊 Despite warnings issued, the Iranian flight did not respond due to communication limitations, as it could not receive the military distress frequency. The misidentification contributes to the tragic outcome. 01:29:49 🎯 The records showed Iran Air 655 was ascending, contradicting reports of its descending altitude, a revelation leading to the tragedy. 01:31:15 🚨 Crew's reliance on perceived observations over recorded data caused the tragic misinterpretation of the situation, impacting the decision to fire. 01:33:31 💔 Fogerty's investigation cleared the U.S. personnel of negligence, but the revelation of the Vincennes being in Iranian waters altered perspectives. 01:36:52 🛑 The Vincennes' action in Iranian territory inadvertently positioned it in the flight path of Iran Air 655, contributing to the tragedy. 01:50:18 💥 The chilling recount of the events surrounding the bombing on Philippine Airlines Flight 434 exposes the meticulous planning and execution of the terrorist attack. 02:00:37 🛬 Captain Reyes faces a challenging landing, terrified by potential damage after a bomb explosion on Philippine Airlines Flight 434. 02:05:27 💣 Investigation into the bomb on PAL 434 reveals the victim's sacrifice averted a potential catastrophic explosion; forensic experts meticulously gather bomb fragments to trace its origin. 02:08:20 🧐 Philippine police track the PAL 434 bomber to a Manila apartment where an accidental fire draws suspicion; it's revealed the suspect was from Pakistan. 02:12:24 🕵♂ FBI Special Agent Pellegrino connects evidence in the Manila apartment to international terrorist Ramsay Youssef, wanted for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. 02:22:21 💣 Youssef's plot on PAL 434 was just a test; a larger plan aimed to bomb 12 American planes, highlighting the terrorists' meticulous planning and the potential danger.
