Top of the coil is naturally going to be hotter it’s getting sub cooled as it hits the bottom of the coil. That’s normal to feel that temp change about 3/4 of the way down.

Reading thru the comments i notice everyone keeps forgetting a big part of this trade. The customer ls wallet dictates how far they’re willing to go. Slam the Pipe Doc all you want for the gas n go, but maybe they dont wanna spend the thousands of dollars to replace the coil!

Mikey on a micro channel coil fuck that I will never do that shit again finding a leak way to much time. Gas and Go, let the customer know they have a leak , see how long the recharge last maybe next time shoot some stop leak in it .... but id change the coil out not a fan of stop leak .... Micro channel is HORRIBLE, all 15 of our Samsung micro channel A/C's failed within 5 years, very poor quality. Back to "tube and fin". all great!
