Thanks for doing this video :) I've been on and off AIP for 20+ years. Symptoms still come back if I go back to eating the restricted foods too often, so back on AIP again now :)..

THIS WAS SO HELPFUL. I'm almost two months into AIP, and I'm so hard on myself on the rare occasion that I cheat, but it's good to know it's not the end of the world haha.

+Shreya I hear ya, I honestly feel like stress is way worse on our autoimmune issues so no point in adding negativity to the situation 😉

It is also much easier to eliminate first just one kind of product. I started with dairy and that change was quite easy, then Gluten- it was much harder and instead of thinking about eliminated that, I shifted my mind towards replecment and plant based diet. Next it came time for sugar. And now I am ready to start AIP diet. I still have many helth benefits from the time I eliminated dairy, so that encurage me to go event further. I keep my fingers for all of you guys! Baby steps are also ok 💚

Thanks so much for sharing all of your tips . I noticed that your hair is colored I have 2 bald spots on my head from alopecia. I am starting to get gray hair on the hair I do have. But should I color my hair ? I feel worse when I have gray hair & no hair in those bald spots. Only 37 years old.

Just a month ago I discovered that I have this autoimmune issue. Not sure which one but its there. Earlier, I never got why I always have this hair fall and why I am always dehydrated. I also have this intolerance to any exercise. I wanted to do AIP for 2 weeks just to see if I could find any difference. Sadly, I broke the protocol on the third day itself. The reason being that we Indians are so used to grains basically. I found it hard to have a daily staple food which is allowed in AIP as a replacement for rice.

This is so old but cauliflower rice? Or broccoli rice? It’s not great and doesn’t taste like rice, but can definitely fill you up although it isn’t easy I’m sure..
@sadiqhussain54862 жыл бұрын
@@zarasbubble1748 yes i did try cauliflower rice. I did one month full AIP last year. But i became weak and lost weight. I want to be only on AIP mostly but how not to become weak is the question.

@@sadiqhussain5486 have you kept track of your macros? Usually we are not eating enough protein or fat once carbs are cut out. For example those starting building muscle or exercising often get shocked at just how much protein they need to be eating. You can use my fitness pal to track calories and macros. When you eliminate lots of foods it becomes harder to eat enough calories. So eat fat cuts of meat, maybe more lamb (as it’s more fat) that will allow you to easily be more full and eat enough fat and protein. Also you must ensure you up your salt intake as carbs normally retain water you don’t get dehydrated, when cutting carbs you loose more water. You should also take electrolytes (can make your own) that will stop you going to urinate very 20 mins. Look into “keto flu” by Dr Berg and Thomas Delauer. They explain what to do to prevent it. Although slightly different, AIP at the beginning is basically very similar to carnivore or keto in a way, so follow tips on those channels against keto flu. If you loose weight and you’re already slim (check you haven’t lost body fat first, as that isn’t bad unless you get to dangerous low levels), if you’re starting to loose muscle mass you aren’t eating enough. So you’re basically burning more than you’re eating. Hope this helps 😊 (To easily add calories use more coconut, avocado or olive oil - I am sure that Ghee is also great and much better as well!)

Can you do this diet if you're vegetarian? I might go with some almonds/walnuts though... I can't cut off snacking
@maztergee3 жыл бұрын
Nuts are a no no.. I was Vegan for a long time, I had to go off being Vegan to heal my body, it's your choice to be vegetarian, you can live off Coconut and Avocados for satiety, I don't tolerate coconut which I was eating a lot of at the time.. .. :)

Two weeks and one day in. I still drink coffee but have up EVERYTHING else. I’m so constipated tho!
@artistic_mama22954 жыл бұрын
Darlene Snyder a teaspoon of brown sugar would probably help, as brown sugar is a natural laxative. If you add a tsp to your coffee for a few days that would probably help, good luck.

Are blueberries and strawberries allowed on the AIP diet? I've read blueberries are part of or similar to nightshades. Thank you

I don't call it a diet when I describe it to people I call it an autoimmune protocol because when you say diet it scares people off
@moondragon053 жыл бұрын
Hey Deepa, when you are on AIP did you ever not care and eat a meal that you knew may be restricted? I wanna say f it one day down a bowl of ramen or a medium pizza. When you mentioned saving foods that were non compliant for celebrations, do you only do holidays? Can I celebrate once a week?

What’s the alcohol you drink on AIP? I’d like to see if my body is also ok with it on occasion
@cmac69924 жыл бұрын
Probabaly Tequila, derived from agave. Vodka is potato which is a nightshade, or from grains. Ciroc os grape asked, and someone recommended. I don't think it would be worth it in early stages, but maybe for a special occasion or once you are well established in reintros.
