This lady is very lovely and a good teacher. For me, I'm patient and understanding when someone who speaks English as a second language may not pronounce their words perfectly or use correct grammar. I know how challenging English is even for native speakers. Effective communication matters much more than perfect pronunciation or grammar usage. I've studied Spanish, French, German, Tagalog and Mandarin Chinese so I know how tough it can be to learn another language. I'll tell you, there are many things about the Spanish language that throws me for many loops. And the grammar for Tagalog: much too involved for my tastes. Consider this: half of US-born native English-speaking adults cannot read something written in an 8th-grade level, much less at a high school or college level. Only 12% can read and understand an apartment rental lease. I've seen and known who many foreign-born people speak and write English better than the majority of English-speaking Americans.
