Thank you very much for this explanation it very helped me to grasp Common Fate in UX. But for some reason, I don't find Common Fate to override the other Gestalt Principles in the case of Dropdown menu, For me it's Common Region and Similarity that makes the user perceive the content it as a group, correct me if I'm wrong :)
