Please keep this conversation going. I have an older brother who is struggling with addiction. We all feel so helpless and really want to do all we can to let him know we love and care for him. He’s stated he just doesn’t want to live anymore. I myself have recovered and have been sober for years from drugs and alcohol. I know it’s possible but I don’t think he wants to give it up. I don’t want to push him over the edge so we are all walking on eggshells with him. Your podcast has been helpful for my mom and myself. Keep it up guys ❤

You guys are amazing. I’ve been binging your content since experiencing something traumatic and it’s helped tremendously. Just listening has allowed me to rest, eat and even just focus on myself as the spouse of an addict. Please don’t stop. Even if it’s just you two talking about the same topics. It helps so so much.

Thank So Much for helping me understand my daughters addiction . Sh is not in recovery right now. But we are all trying to help her, but it's so hard. She's very defiant. She has two beautiful young daughters that she hasn't seen in 3 weeks and they miss her so much. This is so painful. We contacted Sam. He was great. Thank you for this great podcast. Congrats on your success!

Everything they talked about is real. I love they look at things like I do. The answers & solutions have been laid out for us. There's so much research & evidence (cuz of addicts before us) that it's known what is needed in order to achieve recovery. I have 8½ mos, I'm still in a treatment program & I'm all in for the 1st time in 7 years. I'm making it a point to try EVERYTHING. I am active in AA, I participate in my treatment here, and I try every coping skill presented to me or found by me and I am coming in to a spiritual connection. I wish everyone here will find the way out of the hell we've been living.

Wish you would’ve expanded on the sugar and junk food thing. I was just talking to my partner the other day about how he was all irritable and came home from a shopping trip with a twelve pack and donuts and cookies along with the groceries he actually went for. It just seemed like an excessive amount from what he normally gets. Usually it’s like a six pack if he’s gonna buy alcohol unless we’re going camping or something, and either the cookies or the donuts but not both. I’ve been checking USPS every morning to see if there’s a package coming….

Ope well now you got 6 people who listen to the podcast! ❤️ trauma/substance abuse counselor, approaching graduation for my undergrad, and 6 years of active recovery & sobriety. 🫶🏽 y’all are damn right in that NOTHING about recovering as a whole is simple. Well, except for the concept of it 😂 the whole ‘doing the things and taking responsibility for my actions’ part has definitely caught me up a few times. 😅 Even as a professional in the field I have difficulty approaching my loved ones who are still in active addiction because I don’t want to come off as if I’m treating them like a client. Whenever I begin to sound educated on the topic, its as if they shut down and assume that I’m trying to diagnose them or something. (Which is literally not even something I am qualified to do yet😂) I’ve been watching your videos all morning trying to come up with the best way to talk to my brother who has recently relapsed. He is completely shocked that his behavior was a dead giveaway away. He’s convinced someone told me, but I saw it coming. I think after watching this video (and the other 5 before it) I’m finally ready to call him and get a conversation going. Thank you so much for the perspective guys. Really. None of the recovery based creators on youtube that I have come across have successfully portrayed the same combination of charisma, factual information, and comfortable transparency that you two have. (imo) It’s truly a higher power thing that your vids popped up. Until today, I have NEVER gone to youtube searching for communication advice. Especially not for this topic! “how to talk to younger brother about recent relapse” turned out to be 100% worth it. 🎉 thanks again.
