A very difficult problem is when you know that you will never be together because the laws regarding work and visas is so strict. We have exhausted all the possibilities. We may be able to visit but that is all. This has caused a great deal of sadness.

Thanks for these tips. I might be in a long distance marriage in the very near future. Its not what I dreamed of. I think I worry about being alone, feeling bad when around other couples who get to be together, and what my family is gonna think. There are moments where I also think, how could he leave me for this job, or I'm not a priority because he's leaving me for this job. So I'm trying to deal with those emotions. What if you have been the only one trying and putting forth 99% of the work for 2 almost 3 years? I've tried numerous of times to just go see her and every single time she puts me off and comes up with some lame excuse and in return it leaves me questioning myself wondering what I did wrong. She has never put forth any efforts to visit me, she doesn't work, she lives under her parents roof and she's a adult. I asked her a few days ago where she see's me in her future and all I could get out of her was "I don't know". I honestly don't feel like I'm valued and if I dare try to talk to her about a damn thing, she flies off the hinges at me or says "oh here we go again" instead of trying to work things out like a mature adult. I'm younger than her by almost 6 years and I'm honestly getting tired of trying.

I need your help. Me and this girl living in a different continent are attracted to each other but are socially awkward. At first (during the 'getting-to-know' phase) we used to have very interesting and deep conversations and alot of fun as we learned about each other. She rejected a relationship with me but would text me all day and send me hot pics without me asking, flirting with me, calling me pet names and asking to skype etc. This was 10 months ago. Right now we know everything about one another and it has caused a problem. We now text 3 times a week to share the new updates about our lives or share a funny meme or 2. When we Skype (rarely), I try to get the chemistry going but we end up talking about sporadic topics (i.e the new Game of Thrones episode, our fitness progress, some stuff about her day and some about mine + some comments here and there about her surroundings, etc) each of these topics last about 2 minutes before we reach another dead-stop. There's always an overall lighthearted giggly vibe going on tho, so that's good. I've been noticing that lately, out of nowhere, she's being extra talkative, responds as quickly as possible to my texts (in 1-5 seconds lol), trying to talk about random topics to get the conversation going, like she's trying to force something, like she's trying to give it a genuine chance but I don't know how to.. sort of.. use that to get the spark going cause we just have no idea what to talk about. Even tho I know girls around me and can talk to them and they like me. This one became the center of my thoughts the moment I laid eyes on her (she was broadcasting live on YouNow) and the more I got to know her the more she mattered. If you're noticing a mistake on my part that is preventing this relationship from taking off, please let me know.

Hmmm, that's very interesting. I mean, you can't only talk about spark things all the time, especially if you're trying to build something. I think maybe trying to talk about more deeper topics might be a good idea, instead of more surface topics. That might grow the depth of your relationship, and of course you can continue to do the cute, flirty things as well. But maybe getting to know each other on a deeper level will keep the conversation going more and it won't feel as forced. like conversations about family or hobbies, or passions. Just some thoughts..

I'm in a long distant relationship with a girl I met on FB When we 1st started talking it was great Long conversations Alot of in depth talks Then surprisingly we met short after She lives in Arizona me in California We met. We actually hooked up Now I know the world love gets thrown alot But immediately fell for her After that we grew closer in communication Then we met again she flew here Same thing happened but it was more than just sex we loved each other's company An we started talking even more Then slowly I felt distant from her talked less I knew something was wrong same time her ex hit me up saying stuff about her asking about her We exchanged dialogue at he told me he was with her an that's the supposed ex she said she broke up with A ex of 6 years I confronted her about it an she kept confirming me that he was a simple ex Stuff kept going as usual I brushed off that conversation of her ex as him trying to put lies in my head So as months passed me an this girl talked an met more Then she got pregnant She was scared keep in mind she's young 24 I'm 27 That was a big thing since that's a big step an long distance isn't a thing a pregnant woman wants to go through I assured her things would changed that we would be together We planned on moving in Her coming to California But I always thought things were off From when we started talking Before we talked so much literally hrs But after it became less. An after I found out about her being Prego it was hard for us to communicate But things set me off Like her going the entire weekend not talking to me Her talking to me in her car instead of being in her house Lil stuff But I assumed she just wanted space Now one day came were she texted me That she was going back with her ex an getting a abortion That hurt me so bad. Weeks passed I saw her profile pics with her ex turned BF again That got me sad Weeks an more weeks passed an she texted me that she wasn't going to get the abortion an the reason she got back with him is cuz I was far An that I didn't do as much as she wanted Which I actually agree to a certain extent Because I wish I would have been there more cuz she was Prego To hen she told me that after her 2nd trip to Cali to see me she slept with her ex Meaning that all this time she was with him Her ex has been a shitty person They were basically a on an off type relationship I felt she used me to forget him So she said she left him An wanted to me with me She got a abortion which hurt me tbh But I love her an am now currently with her .but I feel distrust.cuz are communication isn't like before were we talked for hrs. We see each other more frequently But I still feel distrust Her family knows about me she has definitely shown me she's serious about us but I feel she hides me at time No pictures of me an her I sometimes push for her to acknowledge me as her significant other. She definitely is a busy person so my question is do u think that a long distance relationship can work when. One being her has cheated An communication isn't as strong. An I still feel distrust

Another thing to add is that currently we seen each other far more But the communication is the same as when she she was distant with me It has gotten better but Sometimes I feel she doesn't make time We talk in her breaks sometimes after work an that's it occasionally at night Now I know someone can be busy but there needs to be time to talk as u said I forsure make time it's just hard for me to believe that in 24 hrs she can't talk that's during the week What grinds my gears is that in the weekend she's off as in no work but she seems non existent she says she is always sleeping That she's busy Goes hrs without a text or call back We legit talk more when she works an is actually busy an tired compared to when she is off an has time I find that so ridiculous Any advice????

I would honestly not be in a relationship with her, a relationship with shitty communication and a history of cheating would most likely not last long. I know it hurts; but do you want to be with someone who you could hardly trust? Do you want to be sad and feel distant all the time? Of course not, we all want happiness. But I don't think you can get that from a relationship like this. "Don't change, replace." (Well that's just what I think from my past experiences...I wish you luck Jeffrey!)

Okay so, I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some tips for this problem: I live in England, my boyfriend lives in America, we are both under 18 and my mum agreed that I can go to America and see him this year or next year. Problem is his mum doesn't want me to stay cause their apartment is too small, so his plan is- I only visit for a couple days and during that time we stay in the airport, which is obviously not practical for reasons of hygiene and accommodation. So I'm not quite sure where we can stay and he doesn't have the money to come to England. Someone please help me!
