There's so much info out there that I freaked out and now my only source of nutrition are granola bars and raw liver. I don't even drink water anymore. Let's see if I'm making a mistake.

Amazing video, always appreciate your unique and original approach to some of these more common topics. Why not a video on something related to flow/flexibility/mobility and injury prevention or avoiding burnouts or something along those lines. Perhaps core strength/mobility, hip flexibility, stretching routines for tight/sore muscles etc. Thanks, keep growing, keep uploading.

Hello Grant! I have discovered your channel through Bioneer, and your fitness shape is amazing! I really admire the type of physique you have achieved and would love to achieve it one day myself. So I would like to humbly ask if you could make a list of exercises or follow along video for beginners(or at even intermediate level) for us to start going towards that physique, (or at least in similar general shape). I personally would have a great use of that type of video, as well as many other people here. Love the work you're doing and keep it up!

Thanks man, great video as usual! I would love to have your advice on how to begin martial art training at around 30 years old. Thanks!
@grantstevensma
@grantstevensma 2 жыл бұрын
Hey man. 30 Certainly isn't old but you're gonna have to approach it a little differently to if you started at say 10 years old. What I'd work on is flexibility and also things that are going to promote greater longevity, like smart training where you're not destroying your body each session to where it can't recover properly and then slowly build your resilience to the training until your baseline level increases. Work on the basic boxing punches and kicks and then also do some conditioning like explosive bodyweight exercises or gymnastic core conditioning. Basically things that are going to build strength but not in a way that redlines the body too much. Also the basics like looking after yourself. Don't be too far outside of your natural weight, too musclebound etc. Hope that helps! 🔥

@@grantstevensma I have some really negative habits and often, when I’m actually feeling free of them on some level, the thought will pop into my mind “but I don’t want to change”. It’s often an actual thought, but sometimes it’s just a sense of unease. I regularly listen to it even though I don’t “have to”…

Awesome video. What do you think about intermittent fasting mixed in with a ketogenic diet? Do you think that's a great way of building lean muscle whilst lowering your overall fat levels?
@suzannenichols6900
@suzannenichols6900 Жыл бұрын
I know you didn't ask me but I've watched a lot of doctors such as Dr. Berg and Dr.Berry and other fitness experts on KZbin, and I have found both intermittent fasting and KETO to be extremely helpful and healthy. You might want to be flexible with the KETO diet because it doesn't always work the same for everyone. Most people do some sort of modifying. Personally I have found it's most beneficial to modify the keto diet sometimes. It's not meant to be all the time, for a lifetime. I think you need to take regular breaks from it, at very least. Hope this helped.
@starboyjedi13
@starboyjedi13 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. This definitely helped. I totally agree with your suggestion on going on and off in regards to KETO and modifying it to one's daily needs. But your suggestions are very helpful. Thanks again.

I think nutrition is a very important aspact when it comes to training. What is your opinion about the optimal bodyweight and bodyfat percentage for a martial artist? Because more weight means more power but probably less explosivenes, right?
@grantstevensma
@grantstevensma 2 жыл бұрын
Your statements are generally correct, but also there's other things at play such as when you're more explosive you'll be more powerful in a different way as well so it's not a black and white thing. It's about finding an optimal balance for your body and style. My opinion is that individuals shouldn't go too far above or below what's a natural lean weight for them. For instance, even though there isn't a massive difference in height. If I were to try to get as big as Mike Tyson with my natural frame, it would wreak havoc on my performance. My weight is around 140lbs and Tysons prime weight was something like 220lbs! Massive difference. This is what people don't understand is that gaining mass is okay but only within a limit your natural frame if you're talking about performance. Anything outside of that is gonna lead to diminishing returns - Aesthetics is ENTIRELY different! I wouldn't comment on a certain body fat percentage as that's gonna be unique to everyone but I don't believe you should be carrying around very much extra baggage or be too musclebound.

Hey grant If I feel good at a certain wieght and want to maintain my wieght or slightly lose like 2 to 5 pounds would I have to still be in a 500 cal deficit or less would be ideal given that im eating healthy foods and my sleep is on track ? Thanks In advance
@grantstevensma
@grantstevensma 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah man 500kcal isn't that much and you can easily lose a few hundred calories just by reducing portion sizes. You'll only know if you try it out for yourself how you'll feel. It depends how quickly you'd like to lose it really. Aim to lose 1-2 lbs per week or it's generally too quick. For instance if I'd like to drop a little I just generally reduce portion size slightly of everything I eat and don't really notice.
