Have you been able to replant those seeds with good result in the next season?

The seeds all came up fine, this year they are shaded out by other flowers, so we will see if they bloom in the next few weeks.

Wow. That is great and what a feeling. I have a few beautiful flowers (Not poppy) that do flower and seed extensively but non of their seeds leads to germination:( Not sure if pollination is a problem or worst! Anyways I congratulation on your good job and I know what a feeling is that, to see your own grow! That mixing of seeds is good and I am sure not only its going to lead into more colorful garden, it can provide a better future pool of gens and possibly by different and new colors, when they growing next to each other, with a chance of more crossing and leading into new colors for the next season. If your flowers produced seeds they are likely pollinated, perhaps the conditions for germination were not ideal. Some smaller seeds like to be pressed into the soil, not buried. Keep them watered for the first few weeks, and if that still dosnt work you can try germinating them on a damp paper towel in a plastic bag. I love growing plants from seed, it is very rewarding.

Really beautiful flowers and the seed pods are really interesting the way they're formed. How long would the blooms last? I've never come across this plant so when I read the word "poppy" I was thinking "Could it be the plant grown specially for cocain?" LOL 😂 Isn't it illegal to grow them? Turns out it was a different king of poppy! 😀😀

You are thinking of Opium, and the Opium Poppy, these are more of a wildflower than a crop.

Thats made from the sap that is extracted from the green seed pods, usually of a specific type of poppy.

@@tomtroy3792 I've read an article about common poppy poisoning and the symptoms are similar to morphine overdose but I don't think because it contains opium. Probably due to some other kind of alkaloid in them.

I am not sure, but I would think it is possible. I found a seed pack of poppies for 11 cents last year, so if you can find them go for it!

I found seeds online but not confident enough to buy it as the seeds are sold without proper label (no seeds name) & from China.. I have nothing against China products.. Its good but I've read review online that sometimes the seller is scamming people.. Where are you from? Is there many seeds sold there?
