In America people are really upbeat and straightforward at the same time. Sometimes they won’t care about sugarcoating things, sometimes they do it without a melodious intent. Some things are considered a bit rude in Europe while they’re OK in the US. Cultural differences.

Same. I have a theory that IF Scotland becomes independent, many people in Northern Ireland might want Northern Ireland to be apart of Scotland because Northern Ireland was unofficially colonized by Scottish Lowlanders. Scots are protestant and Irish are Catholic so they never really mixed. Thus these Scottish Settlers are still present in Northern Ireland.

+Floofy Floody That's incorrect. Rock and Roll was the white man's attempt at bringing the black man's blues music to the white population of America. Since everything was so segregated then, white people wouldn't listen to blues music but obviously they liked it. Ask yourself: Why is Elvis the "King of Rock'n'Roll"? (Fun fact: Elvis isn't British). You may be confusing Rock'n'Roll for Punk Rock since that has a lot of roots in the UK.

As an American who interned in Europe, American scientists were regarded as people who worked too hard. My Greek advisor told stories about having to cut the electricity to keep Americans from working the week of Christmas. I did have one major problem with this video. You said you were going to start talking about positive stereotypes about halfway through, and named one: American optimism. Americans can be incredibly self-important. I mean, who do you think coined the phrase saying America is the best country on Earth? We did. Of course, not everyone is, especially in younger generations. I think this is because we haven’t fought a major war in a while. Legally, I believe that the last War that we fought was World War Two (everything after has been labeled a “conflict”), so the true patriotic fervor that follows a war doesn’t affect the younger people. Our grandparents were only children during the second world war, so it makes sense that, as the world is three generations removed from that war today, so, in general, we (younger people) look at our country through a more critical lens than our elders.

Nathan DiPinto I think the reason why if one problem happens, they blame it on the U.S. because we have a popularity that some stereotypes are obviously somewhat true, and we have a better military I the world, I gurantee if someone beats the U.S. by double, they will not look at the U.S. and only look at the top 5 countries.

Shit, I want to live in the US just for the variety of the land. Nothing wrong with that. I could travel Europe and Asia for that too (I'm European myself), but a few things get in the way: money and languages. The US is a somewhat monolithic landmass where you can expect to be understood in English (thoug the latinos who served me in New York certainly didn't fit this expectation) while it's arguably cheaper to travel and you don't have to pay the banks for the privilege of using different currencies (wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't live in the UK which doesn't have Euros. And let's ignore the dumbass brexit too...).

There are basically 3 reasons Americans don't travel: 1. We can't get enough days off from work. 2. We're too far away from most of the world. Travel is very time-consuming. 3. We are the most hated nation on earth; it is dangerous to be an American outside of the tourist areas. I should also mention while Americans are ignorant about the world, a lot of us descend from immigrants so we tend to know about the countries relevant to our lives. For example, if your parents are Russian and speak to you in Russian, you do not necessarily know about India or African countries, but you might know about many things about Russia which most Americans don't.

I love music 5. I don't like American football. I prefer soccer, tennis, baseball, and hockey. 6. I am not unaware of what goes on in the world.

Friendliness? I’ve lived in America my whole life and I really don’t think this is the case (not saying we are mean, just that we aren’t generally outgoing to outsiders). Yes, most of us don’t travel to foreign countries (I have-which is partially where I developed my opinion in our friendliness) instead, we prefer to explore our own country.

Austin Stoddard hey who is talking about tax?

@kronk5866 6 жыл бұрын
MultiDEVILMAYCRY123 greed usually pertains to the desire to acquire or retain one's monetary wealth. Since taxes are people attempting to retain monetary wealth, one could construe this as greedy. However, what is more greedy is the government taking your hard-earned money because they can. Also, if the super rich are greedy, why do the top 1% of people pay 40% of the taxes? Seems to me like they are the least "greedy", because they already contribute much more than their fair share.

I am an American and although we have a lot of problems, there are some positive things about our country. One positive thing about America is the beauty of our country. I have been to the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Oklahoma and all of these states are beautiful in their own way. I am from Texas and I have been to the beach and I have been in the mountains and I didn't have to leave my state. Another great thing about America is that we are so diverse and have so many different cultures here. I understand that the last few years have made Americans appear intolerant, but not all of us are like this. I just believe that everyone in this world needs to put aside the stereotypes and get to know people for who they are and not where they come from.
