I've spent in excess of 100 nights in Vegas. Thank God I started years ago. I got a taste of a Las Vegas that simply doesn't exist anymore. One thing I wanted to say, BE CAREFUL. You can exit a casino on the back of the property (opposite of the strip) walk 100 feet and be in "no man's land. Crowbar to the head, shank between the ribs. Anyone that attempts to walk from the Strip to "downtown" damned sure better have a swat team with them.The gangs own that turf and they love to see that older couple from Kansas walking by. Done right, an incredible experience.

Resort fees piss the hell out of me...BUT, factor in the resort fees and I can STILL stay in Vegas cheaper than I can at the Holiday Inn 10 miles down the road from where I live. I don't stay at high end hotels, but have never paid more than $50 a night (excluding resort fees)....and have stayed at about a dozen different hotels on the strip. The cheapest stay being at Excalibur ($29 a night + resort fees, when I stayed)which isn't bad at all for a place to sleep.

One nice thing about booking MGM properties through their web site, is that they include the hotel fee on there. They do mention the deposit for incidentals but it's not included in the total because you do get it back after checkout, but at least they do equate the resort fees on there. I always tell my friends to look at the incidentals fee and make sure they include that into their budget since they won't have access to those funds during their stay.

Another mistake is forgetting how dry the air is, and how this can really affect your sinuses. People from humid states (like Florida) will suffer unless they buy a vaporizer/humidifier from the local Walgreen's or CVS for use in the hotel room at night

Yeah, I tell all my friends to bring walking shoes that are already broken in, as there will be plenty of walking involved, both inside and out. The hotels are HUGE and are designed where you simply can't walk straight through them. They funnel you all throughout the building to keep you there, especially in the casino sections.
@dynamobahamas4 жыл бұрын
unless you are disable walking the Vegas strip is never a problem 12 miles a day is good for the human body even in the day during sunshine. You have many places you can stop and take a break if you have to remember it's only 6 miles each way at the most depending on your starting point and if you are staying at a place in the middle you can do one side a day. I would gladly walk and take in everything, in fact, doing that to me is a good reason to go to Las Vegas to start with it's a good part of people watching.

We did quite a few of these last November. We stayed in the Luxor, walked as far as treasure island, after that it didn’t look as interesting so we crossed over and walked back down the other side. We got the deuce bus pass also. So we went to Fremont street and the famous gold shop and that way on, we also walked from caesars palace to the Rio to see penn and teller. My top 3 things we did: 1- see David Copperfield at the MGM, the best show I have EVER seen. 2- visiting the Welcome To Las Vegas sign, it’s just something you have to do. 3- playing (responsibly) in the casinos. It’s what Vegas is about. The worst thing I did- Eat at Hells Kitchen. Didn’t enjoy the over priced food and drink but I can say I have eaten there so that’s nice.

one thing i learned from visiting Vegas twice, is to bring a smaller jacket to wear inside the hotels. Especially during the summer (the time during the year i was there 2017 and 2018) it can be really cold inside the big hotels, like Mandalay bay and the convention center and the luxor. Bring a jacket with you just in case things start to get a little chilly.

Mistake: Being afraid to try “normal” food places with normal prices outside of the hotel food courts. Some days you get used to thinking that $25 for Coffee and a Doughnut is reasonable and you have to smack yourself in the face and go to Starbucks or even McD’s as an antidote.

Shuttle buses are great from the airport to your hotel. Most charge $17 round trip. The drawback is the buses run a route through the resorts, and you might spend an hour or more riding the shuttle before you get to your hotel. The buses also drop you off at a different area from the cabs. But, you cannot really beat the price. Resorts off the strip also offer their own shuttles, as long as you stay at the hotel, it is free.

I've been to Las Vegas a few times and walked the strip twice starting from Circus Circus all the way to the Mandalay Bay, I'll never do it again. Timeshares, I usually stay at a hotel actually are timeshares, the timeshare owners rent them out through travel sites; much cheaper and walking distance to the strip. If anyone's interested, it's the Desert Rose Resorts located right behind Hooters, the only complaint, there is a smell just before you get to Hooters other than that a great place to stay.You can take a cab to get where you want to go, just be careful and don't tell the cab driver too much personal information such as how long you going to be in Vegas and where you're from, some of them will use that against you to get more money. In conclusion, if you pay attention to his videos you will find them very informative.

This works very well if you’re watching a weekday show. The best restaurant I've ever been to was herbs and rye in vegas. This place is open late and after midnight all steaks are 50% off

Everyone loves the main restaurant in Paris (the hotel, not the city), but there's another one deeper inside the hotel and has outstanding food, and it's almost half price if you get in before 4pm.

#6 I did it one day/night. I walked all the way from Downtown to New York, New York I believe it was. I made many stops along the way too so I could see the interiors of many properties. It was FUN to me and great exercise.

Living in Phoenix, I have no issues with the heat. Just need a cold drink and some shade and you are set. Walking down the strip would actually allow people to burn off some of that food. Aside from that I don't have an issue with the recommendations.

#30 is right on point 👍 I would also say that #31 would be using the ATM on the strip esp. at any of the casinos. I see they jacked up the fees to over $10 a pop. OUCH!

ATMS are soo expensive on the strip!

I'm going to make a mistake number 19: going in the summer. But I'm from Finland and few years ago we had a massive rainstorm on June and temperature was +4 degrees celsius. So I'm happy to go some place warm. Of course we have some warm temperatures but it's called a sauna.
@cpresto24 жыл бұрын
Jack of Helsinki It's not a mistake. Rooms are very cheap when it's hot, and it makes the pool better

I would love to see you go to Fremont Street and do a video on the insanity there. It is an entirely different experience with an entirely different set of things to do (and look out for!) as opposed to the strip.

A few years ago we did the walk to the Rio bit. Realized it was a huge mistake about halfway across the bridge. Everything looks so close but came to discover the buildings are huge. That is when and where we started using Uber.

For number seven,if you drove to vegas then definitely use your car.There are some places you can park for free and from there on,walk around those areas.If you want to go to the Whynn hotel or anywhere around that hotel,theres a free parking lot for the fashion show mall you can park at.If you want to go to the M&M store or see anything theres around that area,then park in an area thats its around their CVS(this one will cost you around 10 bucks but its worth it).Lastly,if you want to see everything around the center of the strip like Ceasars Palace,Mirage,etc.then park in the Casino Royale hotel parking lot since its right in the center of the strip and its FREE parking!

I think that T.I. has free parking,also.

Next time try Laughlin, Nevada, 90 miles south of Vegas, on the Colorado River. That’s the place to have fun. Jet ski businesses are beginning to buy up all the cheap commercial property straight across the river from Harrah’s casino in Old Bullhead City, AZ. The area that you are showing on the left side (north side) of the park is exactly where City of Bullhead is developing a commercial boat ramp. Some places you can live in while having a great investment at the same time because it’s zoned for commercial but some places are grandfathered in already so they can’t make you move. Plus you are walking distance to the Colorado River and have a great view of the casinos on the opposite side of the river.

No mention of taking the bus in a positive way :( Caesars to Rio? Take the bus which stops at the Laurel entrance and it drops you right at Rio... no pass? 2$. Why take the cab or Uber?! Same from airport... WAX takes you from the airport to NYNY or MGM for 2$. You head DT from the airport? Same 2$. If you go to Rampart or Suncoast - you guessed it right, 2$...

we are going to vegas in June normally go at christmas but its absouletely freezing with a wind chill that could slice you in half,we wanted to go this year in april,but it had to be june due to work. while not looking forward to the high temps it will be nice to get about wearing t shirts and shorts for a change without shivering. according to locals oct/november is the perfect time, striking the balance between to hot and to cold

Related to the alcohol one: make sure you are drinking enough water because, if you are slightly dehydrated, even a relatively small amount of alcohol can hit you hard. An easy solution, go to a drug store outside the casino and get water for the room (the easiest guideline on how much is to factor around a six pack of water per person per 5 days).
