I was there and this was phenomenal! All were outstanding and it was good to see my homegirl Latifah. The crowd was definitely thrilled and excited, I'm not sure why they couldn't be heard singing along with the artists. It was over 105° that day. As a part of the crowd, we would not have stood out there singing, and yelling in that dangerous heat if we weren't into it. It was hellahot, but it was sooooo worth it to see all that outstanding talent!!! I love the Roots, Jazzy Jeff is a legend, and Common is so fine!!!

I can't believe that people call Questlove overrated. He nailed 5 grooves in a row, without them spilling into each other. I've seen talented jazz drums struggle with this, BUT THINK THEY'RE NAILING IT. True break beat drumming requires rock solid timing since you're trying to emulate am electronically looped sample. Not as easy as it looks AND sounds.
