The Roots are probably my favorite band of all time and DJ Jazzy Jeff doesn't get half of the respect he deserves because people associate him with his character on Fresh Prince of Bel Air more than his amazing production and DJing skills, but the Roots came out in 1993 and Jazzy Jeff came out in 1986 so you're still pretty far behind.
