Blogs in Plain English

As a high school teacher, I am amazed at the changes that blogs have had in the news in the 21st century. Growing up before the internet became prominent, the news was consumed through newspapers, television, and radio. With the rise of blogs, news can now be consumed more interactive and individualized. Blogs are not only created and organized by individuals, but they also bring like-minded people together and facilitate conversations and networking. I have seen firsthand the impact that blogs can have on my students. They are able to stay informed on the news and current events in a way that I never could when I was growing up. Furthermore, blogs provide students with a platform for their own voice and a way to connect with people who share their interests. I believe blogs are an invaluable resource for staying informed and connected in the 21st century.

A clear explanation of what blogs really are. No matter what the goals are for having a blog, it's very important that people keep the quality of their blogs to deliver the purpose. Providing useful and interesting content should always be prioritized. Others are too focused on optimizing their blogs they fail to notice they are decreasing the quality.

I agree that the purpose of blogs is to deliver information and purpose. The purpose may be to persuade, entertain or inform. Either way, the message and tone should be evident throughout the structure and format.

I come from a huge family, with sibs or their children all over the place. My baby sister was the first to post blogs, as she lives in France with her own family. It has kept us all connected to her and her growing children. Since then, other family have started blogs as well. Without blogs I would not get to know my 26 neices and nephews, cousins, as well as what my 10 brothers and sisters are up to! It has certainly kept us close!

I don't know about plain English so much as simple English. Yet again Lee brings us a pretty complex subject matter and simplies the whole shebang. Inspirational!

I just came here from the WordPress documentation. They linked this video there. It's a straightforward and helpful video. Though I knew what a blog is and how it works but I must say the explanation and the video itself is so cool and nostalgic. I felt alive.

I have some tips on my blog to help with getting started. Writing isn't too difficult at first, but if you're new to blogs, you're going to have to really start jotting down ideas from the start. Hitting writer's blog and getting past it is not typically covered in these vids. Great info though, I wish I would have watched this before.

Blogging is creative and lots of research. Not always easy editing your elements tend to duplicate online. Putting the material into blog you need to plan it firstly and do a layout it then makes it easier to be published.Freezes a lot online. cheers Marg
