This is one of the best tutorial presentations I have come upon. I think I have learned more from this one video than trying to figure out some of the common denominators one finds in all the so-called-guru ads on how to make money and the steps needed to get yourself started. Thank you! Let all those "bird-brains making ridiculous comments crawl back from whichever vegie-patch they came from"

Truly fantastic job man. Even though I'm already familiar with wiki's I was curious to hear your explanation to the uninitiated. I'm very impressed with the way you were able to provide a simple, real-world example without having to dumbing it down. There are brilliant people who are totally inept as instructors despite being experts in that field. IMHO you clearly have a gift.

I would not describe myself as computer illiterate but definitely not computer savvy. This video answered any questions I could have. I'm glad to learn whenever I can. I personally think that more people should watch instructional or simply informative videos to make their lives, as well as others around them, easier. Thanks. Very nice and simple.

That was a great basic tutorial. Love the quickness of the presentation. It was to the point and certainly not boring. Very good for beginners to understand the concept. I hope to find more in depth Wiki tutorials from the same Guy using the same quick style. We're learning Convergence Wiki that is a lot more complex at work so I'm excited about all that's available to learn from. Thanks very much for providing this.

One of the most frequent questions about wikis is whether or not older versions are preserved, a version that one party in the collaboration may have preserved. With that one additional question answered, this would be a perfect explanation.

Wiki is a very nice way to organize information amongst a group of people. With the use of wiki, information can be saved in a clear manner & wouldn't take as much time as emailing would. Wiki is a very interesting program and seems essential for sharing data within a business or just a group of individuals wanting to share information.

So can people edit at the same time or does the one saving first edit the file while the second one overwrites everything? or is that beeing solved by saving an older version so it can be merged?

This is a great explination. I remember 8 years ago several of my mates put up a notepad document in an editable section of our school network in a similar manner. Of course the more people who found out the more people used it and eventually several people were editing the same document at once and comments were lost. Good concept, but flawed somewhat flawed the more it gets used.

Lee - I think what you're doing is fab! Of course this vid is just about the concept but before long folks will need to know about at least 2 complexities you necessarily skate over, 1. turn taking and other editing protocols, 2. top level taxonomy or structure of the site. Do you know where this kinda thing is brought together because I cant see it. Most of the google culled comment is about security and choosing the right wiki.
