You kind of know He’s not abusive but somehow when someone sits behind keys and a mic and says it, you realize how much you needed to hear it❤️❤️❤️❤️

As a survivor of spiritual abuse, this is very healing. It took me years to be able to open up to God and trust spirituality again. The message of Jesus is so beautiful and this song is how spirituality should be: authentic, loving, healing.

Verse 1: God is not abusive Takes no pleasure in our shame He finds a place inside our pain Hallelujah Chorus: Come now everybody Lay down every stone He will not condemn you There’s freedom at his throne Verse 2: When hurt grows me to silence Bearing guilt from other’s sins Lord, lift my voice to cry out Spirit catch the tears that fall Verse 3: Jesus sees my trauma Holds my broken pieces And draws me to his kindness Hallelujah Bridge: So come Do not be afraid These burdens no longer needs to keep you silent Oh come Do not be afraid There’s refuge from all The hurts and pains that haunt you

The power in this song, the realising that God is for us, loves us, His heart bleeds for us, He is our safe place. Wow, WOW. This song took my relationship with God to a new place, and His endless love is just SO clear. Bless all of you involved in this song, bless you for allowing Papa to use you to bless us 🥰

He feels and seems very abusive when you read Joel 2, Hosea, Jeremiah 30…I just read Jeremiah 30 and greatly confused because He punishes His people, people who He’s supposed to love and take care of…He seems so very abusive, cruel, mean and just like the people who hurt me then He switches to being kind and loving in Jeremiah 31. Does anyone have any insight?

That is not abuse that's his mercy. If we had his power with how we treat each other, we would wipe each other out, and Earth would no longer exist.

What do you mean He is not abusive? While actually, He is! *JOB **9:22* *ISAIAH 45:7*
@victoredwards05304 жыл бұрын
I guess the key to this is the writer's definition/use of the word "abusive." If by that you mean that God never does anything from a hateful spirit, then it is true. But that same God justly condemns to hellfire forever those who hate Him. That is not abusive, but it is stunning. God's righteous judgment is just and holy, and His punishments are not abusive. But sometimes this kind of song is an attempt to reduce God to a mere lover in the sky, forgetting [or denying] His holy wrath in just judgment of those who hate Him.

I think your comment says much more about you than God. Why do you want to hate people? My God is loving.

I dunno ay, hes apparently all knowing and all powerrful.. so he created all this knowing what we would go through... shouldn't he be asking our forgiveness? Nope.. he expects us to be sorry for what he did.. he put the snake in the garden after all... knowing what would happen and then just looks the other way while his children slip into sin and death... He tells us to love our enemies but he casts his enemies into everlasting fire... calls it righteous.. and expects to be worshipped and adored above all..? sounds kinda abusive.

You know the Lord uses the foolish things to confound the wise. Lol it’s what makes Him all knowing. I understand your perspective. I was there and even as a believer I still have the same questions sometimes but He answers in love always and that’s what makes Him so good. He has helped me (is still helping me) overcome the most wicked parts of me and is helping me heal wounds that I never knew were embedded in my heart. The little girl that grew up without a Father now has one. I don’t feel lonely and worthless anymore. This is all about me right but the Lord reveals himself to those whom chose to believe He is good. It’s hard I know. Especially in the world we live in. But you know all it takes is a yes. That yess will lead to your everlasting communion with the Father, Son and Spirit who made you. All apart of this here earth. The Lord knew it needed you. You are still apart of His perfect plan. One day He will win over your heart and you will realize how good He truly is. But it takes time. I’m still slowly learning too. And that’s okay. He’s okay with that too. An open heart leaves Him a lot of room to show Himself for who He truly is. A good good Father/friend/companion/savior/everything you can think of. I don’t know you but I know the Lord does. He can take your anger and frustration and He will still receive you with a big hug, robe, and a ring because no matter what you do you are His. Love you brother/sister in Christ. This world is hard enough to live in it why chose to go through it alone? When you got the most chill person ever to call friend/ God/ Father all in one. Trust me I’m still learning too.God bless you!! God loves you no matter what!!

Dear Brittany and all who put rings in their noses: Do you know why farmers put rings in hogs' noses? To keep them from rooting in the muck and doing damage to the ground. I am not sure why you have one.

What does any of this have to do with what message they are preaching in this song? Are you so focused on rules and regulations that the love of God flowing through this, and the lives it is blessing is missing you completely? Do not allow Satan to make you that person, God does not care how any of us choose to present ourselves, He says “come as you are” for a reason. He cares way more for our heart than for the way creative individuals choose to represent themselves. Victor I beg you, don’t take on a Pharisee mentality and let the outside stop you from missing the message of this song. People pierce their noses as part of self expression, and with the God we all know and love and have truly seen His heart; that is the last thing on His mind, so let it be the last thing on yours. Go and be blessed 🙏🏾

Sloppy sentimentalistic music is not godly music. You are walking on the edge here.

Your comments are disappointing and coming from a place of judgement, I pray God frees up your heart so you understand that God is pure love and lover in the sky. God does not punish us for being human, He gives us free will and we make mistakes, He teaches us sometimes through painful lessons (situations we sometimes end up in unwillingly or willingly) but He is ultimately right there with us and it is not His will that any of us should perish needlessly. What do you think Jesus came to do on the cross? He came so that this kind of thinking you have of this intolerant God could be put to one side. Again Victor, I pray God shows you what this song is truly about and why He chose these individuals to bless us with it.
