There were cries of “shameful” and “bring back Bercow” in the Commons as Sir Lindsay Hoyle set out his reasoning behind selecting both the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition’s amendments to the SNP Gaza ceasefire motion.
A Conservative MP could be heard to mutter that the Commons Speaker was “moving the goalposts” as he first confirmed his plans.

I've never seen a more corrupt decision, from a speaker, tham what occured today. I'm not saying that because of some political bias, I'm a Labour moderate by the way, I say this as a democrat. The fact that this was an SNP opposition day. The fact that you couldn't slip a cigarette paper, concerning differences, between the two. And the fact that the Labour amendment had nothing to do with concerns for Palestinians but was all about stopping it's M.P. 's voting for the SNP amendment. Starmer was so concerned about all this ? That he walked out before the debate began. Also Labour has imposed a three line whip on its M.P.'s. Sorry but Hoyle needs to resign. He has disgraced the role of speaker

People passionately expressing themselves without becoming violent is a great example, imo. I think, generally, that one of our biggest problems as a culture (specifically British culture I'm talking about) is that we are not open enough about what we think and feel. We tend to put being "polite" above voicing what we believe to be true, and that, I think, has gotten us into an awful mess as a society. We've allowed so many things that are harmful to us to happen because we didn't want to make a scene and that's way more dysfunctional than getting a bit too vocally roudy sometimes.

I can not believe that all this steams from what or how a statement should be prepared. Weather that was in the form of a letter or just a government statement, and the choice of words that go into it. What a sham. They should all be ashamed of themselves when we are suffering the highest tax burden since WW2, and working people are having to use food banks. I will never vote for any party again.

I always had my suspicions that starmer works with people to stir haterd on Tories ( like working with the bank of England to keep interest rates sky high) I think what he did here with the speaker goes a long way to prove me right !!!!!!!
