In the post-2020 world, Americans, having faced the controversies of the 2020 election and the January 6 insurrection, may be tempted to do their best to forget these events and move on - yet to bestselling author Malcolm Nance, this is the worst thing they can do. As the country is experiencing a sharp rise in radicalism and hostility toward democracy, Nance argues that it is more important than ever to be actively confronting the rise of a new threat to democracy from within.
Malcolm Nance is a leading expert in counter-terrorism studies, as well as an intelligence analyst, cryptologist, former senior chief petty officer in the United States Navy and founding executive director of the New York-based think tank Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideologies. Nance has written at length on the dangers posed by major terrorist groups, such as ISIS and al-Qaeda.
In his latest book, They Want to Kill Americans, Nance explains how conspiracy theories, white privilege and increasing hostility toward democracy have all contributed to the rise of what he calls a “Trump Insurgency in the U.S.,” or TITUS. Having forewarned of divisions in America turning into fractures in our country months before the January 6 insurrection, Nance warns that the rising generational threat may rival the Islamic State or al-Qaeda, and that immediate action is necessary to address this growing unrest before it is too late.
Join us as Nance explains how such a destructive force has sprung up in our own backyard, and what can be done to quell its growth.

I am proud to maintain my one year ago comment : "I noticed in the last couple years his comments, being so accurate and with such a clear vision of what is going on in today's international arena. Entertaining, funny, but very serious in substance and competence. He had the guts to face hot zones of conflict with a great desire to help, in fact all of us. Thank you Malcolm for your great service. People like you are really needed for the success of a better future world".

When trump first said he could go out on 5th ave. and shoot...... You, who did not run away screaming he is crazy were brainwashed.,. becoming enmeshed in a bad relationship - to eventually become a victim of all this madness as an accessory before , during, and after to all his evil deeds. Then you were a Stockholm syndrome sufferer and engulfed inguilt driven anger b/c you could not stop yourself , while wishing you could , then do the only possible thing you could'! You blame everyone for you lowering your standards and hate anyone who might truly forgive and forget their transgressions .About the felony and firearms...i have been telling the cyber mobs for a long while now. One disturbing thing about this to me is, I saw it coming 20 years ago and I surmised that just from what I saw in society with no real education in politics. My question is this. Generally speaking, if bad people kill anybody who gets in their way and good people kill no one, how the hell are good people ever to win against the bad people? Again, I'm speaking generally.

To begin with,, our founders chose free expression of speech, meaning the government cannot arrest or harrass you for expressing yourself, even in a hateful way. Yet, if that speech harms you in some way, you can sue the speaker in civil court. That's in the first amendment,, making the principle almost impossible to change. The second amendment is now being interpreted by the NRA and several states as legal open carry of any deadly weapon. So, the combination of these two basic rights could be interpreted as.a legal right to shoot anyone who disagrees with my hate speech. Such hated people are often Liberals...for no reason other than we Liberals also support the Constitution, but in a far more humane empathetic way. That appears to be the attitude of too many Trump fans. I think of your question this way.

We L O V E Malcolm Nance💌 I still read Reader's Digest💖 In November 2016 the issue included: Trump and Clinton: 26 Points to Ponder. Unfortunately, the article should have been released prior to October/November. How anyone could have voted for tp is 🤯but the article nailed it. It was originally set to interview both candidates but tp said no and after a brief time HRC decided not to be interviewed. I remember (I can't find my copy) the article had points from people who cobbled together statements made over the years by both tp & HRC and gave a summary of what to expect from the presidency of each of them. I almost did not read it since it was past the election, SO glad I did! I never skip articles. One point I remember how tp was obsessed with nukes back when Pres. Reagan was in office. & you have to give HRC something to work on because she is a worker, she has to try and fix things

Truth is, if you are a Black American, we saw this after EACH presidential election! There was one decent one an in my eyes it was Jimmy Carter! What did they do to John F Kennedy and any other good, decent moral candidate who runs for President, if you have these BELIEFS, than the 1% who RUN & LITERALLY CONTROLL OUR GOVERNMENT will NOT ALLOW this to happen! Obama won and CAVED to the 1% after he won, despite the fact that we would finally feel HOPE & CHANGE but got a TINY TASTE of it! Bernie Sanders, we watched what they did to him! The leadership within the Dem Party is just as bad as the Republican Party, no if, ands about it! As far as I'm concerned, we will NEVER SEE, nor FEEL America living up to its Promise! We have let a handful of people become way too wealthy and way too powerful. I don't know how we fix it, but it should be dealt with, because they have shown they cannot be good stewards of their power, and they will use it to all of our demise if they feel so inclined, and that became crystal clear with 45.

The democrat platform demands hatred, division, an otherism. There's nothing at all you can do to change this fact. Even Biden agrees with me as he continually makes hateful and divisive statements about republicans while calling himself "uniter in chief" Democrats know that controlling language and thought is critical to winning

Malcolm Nance is an amazing man and probably the most knowledgeable on this topic among many others. I like how he analyzed the nuclear threat but I will add one thing that I heard a retired general say which was the following: If Putin released a nuclear bomb on Ukraine, there would be literally blowback all the way to Moscow because that's how the wind travels. There would also be literal blow back into Poland and hence NATO would be invoked because that would be an attack on a NATO member. SO it is absolutely impossible for him to do it without these two very deleterious things occurring-- one being the destruction of his own people in their own country and the other resulting in an attack on Poland which finally brings in NATO which has been built up on the border over this last year. To me this was the most concise and clear analysis of the situation because it's simple fact. In America we are so isolated that we forget that European countries all border each other and anything that happens in one country will affect another country, especially something such as nuclear fallout which travels in the air and on the Wind and knows no borders. IN contrast, of course America could drop a bomb with NO physical effect on its own people.

The Art of War by Sun Tzu is my favorite book of all time..Malcolm is well versed in it, and his analysis is right along the lines of that book ..Up until this ill advised invasion, I thought Putin knew the book pretty well also ..Sun Tzu begins with 2 major rules before anything else starts ..Know yourself, and Know your enemy ..If you know yourself and not your enemy, you will win 1/2 the time and lose 1/2 the time ..You need to know both to win , and knowing neither yourself or your enemy is a guarantee of losing ..Putin both underestimated the Ukrainians and the actual capabilities of his own military ..Russia's future with Putin his very bleak at best ..He has already lost this war and his days as Russia's leader are numbered ..Malcolm Nance knows his stuff and if his warnings about the ongoing Trump insurgency are ignored, we are in for a lot of trouble and by that I mean a lot more domestic terrorism propelled by White Christian Nationalist ideology ..Crazy times..Think U.S. history in 1850's through 1860's ..

@@brad3378 KZbin equally and automatically censors EVERYONE who uses abusive/damaging/inflammatory language. Just learn to behave like a normal human being, you should be fine, confirmed by me being able to read your uncensored comment. Anything beyond that is handled by the community and/OR the CHANNEL OWNER. If you deliberately lie or spread known disinformation aimed to hurt innocent human beings you will be reported on, and if it is confirmed as being deceptive, you will be censored. Most of the time, no one censors your *personal honest* opinion, even though the channel owners are perfectly within their right to do so for any reason whatsoever.

I do not like how he calls the Russians less than human "Orcs". I am a vet, and remember that we were trained to denigrate "the enemy" in order to feel better about killing them, "slaughtering" them, as Malcolm says..Those Russians are humans, who are likely PTSD vicrtims, people drafted into a situation they did not want to be in...These types of enforced soldiers will indeed commit atrocities, feeling that they have no other choice. During WW2, we called Japanese soldiers by other names, as we did Germans...Nance is actually willing to risk a world-wide nuclear war in order to challenge Putin...and he does point out that Putin might be insane enough to nuke everyone!...Where is all this kind of talk leading us?..Malcomb is obviously willing to die for his b eliefs, but is the rest of humanity feeling the same way?

What exactly is encouraging, the enemy has the better propaganda machine of hate and othering, everytime you hear the word Woke, it's the gateway word to recruit and grow this movement. Every other episode on Joe Rogan complains about "the left" as if it's the bigger problem, all this does is rally the "good" ppl.

I'm like to see commenters from other countries give their perspective because often here in the US people don't even consider how what goes on here might appear to or affect other countries. I think it's the mythology vs history, exceptionalism, and the media coverage, which is dominated by domestic affairs. Although the tRumpists have been/continue to be a threat, there are plenty of people working to stop them from Bernie Sanders to Jon Stewart to Mehdi Hasan and John Fetterman. Then there are KZbinrs such as Beau of the Fifth Column, who's background isn't dissimilar to Nance's, Rational National's David Doel (Canadian 🇨🇦), David Packman, TYT, The Humanist Report, and Democracy Now to name a few. You also remind me that I should do more research into your region's history and politics. I'm fairly well versed in some regions and countries, but I need to learn more. Greetings from West Coast US! 💚🌏🌍🌎✌️😎

I am definitely reading his books this month. I have respected his perspectives and experiences for some time, and this has heightened it. He could lead me to hell...lol..he's the kind of leader America need more of; he and Gen. Honore. They are to be protected. I don't think as much these days about Russian aggression as much as China and it's attemp of world domination.
