Definitely gotta rethink my own garage sale strategy. I've been pricing my stuff extremely low to get rid of it. If I make any money on the sale, good for me. If not, I got rid of a bunch of clutter. T-shirts for $10? Used dolls for $30? Goodness me. I guess these people don't mind having lots of stuff left over.

Try using whitening toothpaste to get the black off the cups. We lived overseas and had a house fire--the only thing that worked well on our smoot covered furniture was toothpaste!

There is actually a cool app for your phone that uses a #2 pencil to determine if a coin (silver or whatever you put into it) is real or not based on the sound of the pencil tapping the coin. Works great and a good way, along with a magnet to cull out the fake coins on the fly. Love your videos. 😎

I havent watched the full video, but those cups, if you havent tried it, maybe magic marker would work. Take a little off the top to get rid of the black part or at least fade it enough

Try the Magic Eraser for the cups. Might be easy to clean off. Then sell as is and explain in description that they can be cleaned with a Magic Eraser. That was a great find but not as good as the Five Nights of Freddy's bundle.

Well I just had my first. I found this dumb little carved resin figure for a dollar. I couldn't find any comps on ebay and started thinking to myself, "I really like this thing" so I posted it for what i thought was a way too high of a price to discourage it from leaving my desk too soon. A week or so I ago I got an offer for it and began thinking I had it priced too low if i wanted it sitting around and started thinking of delisting it to keep...but i forgot and it sold today. 😢 It is also going to the uk where they paid a steep price for shipping.

What sellers at garage sales need to understand is that resellers have fees, postage and their time in listing, testing etc. Most of the time they pull up asking price on an item and not sold comps. There’s no meat left on the bone when they’re asking $8 for a $10 game etc, and they’re stuff isn’t moving because they have a customer base of about 20- 50 people.

That’s why their yard sales are packed full at the end of the day. Then most of them donate the stuff at the end anyways. I don’t get it. Why not pocket some money? I get wanting to get close to eBay prices but they don’t realize that most of us have thousands of dollars a year in storage unit(s) and have to put the work in the ship them. That’s why we get higher prices.

I would say that trade dollar is fake...tons of them were made in China. If really it would be worth big bucks. You can buy all sorts of fake US coins online so since I don't know coins that well so I never purchase them at flea markets or especially if someone approaches you in a parking lot or store. That has happened to me multiple times.

Not every customer is a picker and they just might be a collector perfectly willing to pay her prices for an item they want, so holding out for that customer is the sellers prerogative. There is no hard fast rule that says a seller can only ask for market value on Ebay.

Just a rule of thumb most common silver dollars run $25-30 retail and about $12-15 for common half dollars. That looked like a sitting liberty and those can go for good money but from my experience commons can start as bout $20-50 for halfs dollars of the era I’m guessing would go $30-60. Retail.

That was a reproduction trade dollar... only worth its weight in silver, if it was even solid silver. The 1793 date gave it away, where as the original trade dollars were only minted 1873-1885.

Not an expert but try a bit of water and bleach mixture to clean those plastic cups. Use a toothbrush or maybe a small sponge and be sure to wear so gloves. So jealous 😮
