I hope you stay around brother you and I are near the same age I went In the army in 1981 this makes me think of the attack on the power substations the last few years 😮 God bless

As someone who worked landline repair for 30 years, I can tell you that is just copper theft. In my area, they take a backhoe and literally pull the cable down off the pole. They'll melt the plastic sheath off the copper, and that's more copper in there than you think it is. That's quite the "repair" AT&T did, btw. 🙄 I'd have been embarrassed to say I did something like that.

yeah, it looked like something i would do.

An acquaintance of mine was checking out her in-construction offices. Apparently a gentleman who was stripping the copper wiring and pipes had fallen and struck his head on a 2x4, was out cold on the floor. Made it easy for LEO to cart him away. 😐

This is the mentality of the future stupid . The same stuff happens here. There is little money to be had in damaging infrastructure and scavenging the copper yet it is a hobby for some. The phone company places so little value in repairing your twisted pair correctly that you may have to pull the " contractually obligated" card to get it fixed right. I still have a POTS line here as well. Thanks for sharing !

Do the videos to the extent they inspire you to get things done. You've been a great inspiration to me to get things done. I shamelessly steal ideas from you all the time. Thanks.

Can't speak to the first part of the video, but as to you making fewer videos I completely understand. There have been so many changes to the platform since we started posting that have made YT a hell of a lot less fun than it used to be.

HOW did they get that high to get the wire down ?

No doubt methhead wire theft. Heck those monsters will clean the copper out of a whole house.

1) That is strange regarding your phone line. 2) Sometimes, we all need a break from social media. 3) At almmost 70, I am (finally) getting ready to retire and once I do, my social media presence will be reduced significantly, as I want to enjoy what life I have left! Take care and I hope it gets squared away soon!

If I could only tell you how many times I have repaired what you were talking about where people have come out, stolen the copper, and then sold it to make money. That string by as we called it when I worked at the phone company should have never been done with, that’s inside wiring and or cat five should’ve been done with parade service drop or aerial drop to protect it. I’ve done that so many times fixing issues like that. Then you get to where AT&T refuses to repair it because there’s only a handful of customers, so you only get a string by like that. You can fix it yourself if you want and you know where it’s broken which pair is yours using wire nut connectors

if it comes to that we will just let it go. i agree there must not be many customers left out here.
