Hi, my Google Chat looks different than yours. Perhaps I have an older version? For instance, I can't access things like "itGenius" and the lefthand side of my screen doesn't say "Chat" and "Spaces." It says "Shortcuts", "Direct Messages", "Spaces", and "Apps". Any tips on how to make my chat look like yours?

Can Chat be setup as an email signature link for clients? Basically use it for chatting to prospective clients without sharing a telephone number?

Hello, @1:35 there is an option to allow users from outside your organization to join. I don't have that option when I go to the same screen. My goal is to allow my therapy clients their own space so we can chat, add tasks, and create a better flow than in my inbox. Do you have any idea what I should do?

I think it's because you need to be on the Business Standard plan or above to do this.

@@shaanesy yes I have business standard. I have payment, multiple appointment types and all. I just can't believe such a silly flaw would be present.

I’m setting up Chat now but I can’t find the ”roles” settings? I want to be able to restrict ALL so only I as Admin can invite members to a Space. Now anyone in the Space can add new members…

maybe you didnt enable external contacts when starting the space, try a new space

Great Video! I'm wondering if you've ever heard of use cases to use Google Chat for Client Communications for Marketing Agencies that need to communicate with multiple clients that have request. We use asana for internal project management but want to communicate certain milestones and ask for approvals to clients somehow. LOT's of agencies use slack for this, but could Google Chat effectively be used. We'd want to run some automations that allow us to notify a specific client (I'm guessing we would use a Space per client) about the status of a project deliverable. etc.

I use Google Spaces for collaborative projects with different consulting teams. Everyone is invited. I always allow people outside my organization, but keep it restricted so it's a private space for a group. Good luck

The Problem with Google chat for this scenario is what I’m dealing with. I want to streamline communication/account set up for clients. If your clients email is external/ non domain external essentials won’t work. If they are domain external email with a Google account not set up from essentials they can’t be invited into chats. You would have to ask every client to make a new gmail account for communications essentially. My solution but it cost is creating a new domain & New Google workspace account just for client users. Gives the ability to set up accounts and use that user email for all the accounts we need them set up with. Technically using that Gmail box for a Username/login. That way we can use all the Google apps with each client instead of 5 3rd party. The only problems I’m trying to find solutions for is. Cost - Each client would cost extra for a User account on Google workspace. ( + extra user for each individual that also needs access from the clients company)

The spaces are ordered by the most recently updated space at the top. You can pin your most important spaces to the top of the list so that they are easier to find, use the filters, or the star icon.

Thanks for the great video. I use Google Chat to partly manage my rental home rehab projects. We typically have 2-3 rehabs homes going at once. I use individual spaces for each home. I put my contractors and VA in each space for each home. Is there a way to have one person in the space not get a notification if something I post does not pertain to them? For instance. I normally post receipts in each space for my VA to file. But let's say I purchase fence supplies and I hire the fence job out to another contractor who isn't in the Google Chat. I'll post the receipt in the chat for my VA to file, but my main hourly contractor gets a notification as well. He doesn't necessarily need to see the receipt or get bugged about it because he isn't doing the fence. Is there a way to prevent him from getting notices in spaces that he is in but only the ones that he needs to see? Thanks

🤢I just can't handle the low res screen recording🤮 I understand your time and business constraints to go ahead and publish, but nonetheless... Yuck. Quantity of content is for your business to grow, but quality is the value to me as a viewer and for me to learn. My education is relying on good visuals, that's why we use KZbin and not just audio only content. If visuals ever suck, even once, it's going to be the first and last time you'll see me on your channel. I'll learn from elsewhere. So yeah, your video thumbnail and click-through rate might still be healthy, but overall, it can make or break new customer engagements.
