Every year more than 6 million birds die as they migrate from the United States and Canada to Central and South America, according to a new USC study published April 25 in journal PLoS ONE.
"This is a tragedy that does not have to be," said lead author, Travis Longcore, an associate professor in the USC Spatial Sciences Institute in the USC Dornsife Collage of Letters, Arts and Sciences.
The birds are killed by the 84,000 communication towers that dot North America and can rise nearly 2,000 feet into the sky, according to the authors of "An Estimate of Avian Mortality at Communication Towers in the United States and Canada."
In contrast, the Exxon Valdez oil spill killed 250,000 birds total and the Empire State building is 1,250 feet high.

To everyone viewing this after the 2.0 movie. That's me in the video and this study was not about EMFs or 5G. The birds killed at communication towers suffer blunt force trauma when they run into the cables that hold up the towers. They are migrating in the dark and attracted to and disoriented by the lights. They cannot avoid the cables and die in collisions with them. Collisions happen at night while birds are dazzled by the lights of the tower, so that wouldn't work. We do have a solution, which is to change the lights to flashing only, which reduces mortality dramatically.

They can't see the wires, both because their "blind spot" is different from yours and because it is dark, except for the lights of the towers that disorient them. This problem was discovered in the 1980s , when satellite communications were established using microwave. That's when Seagulls started appearing very far inland, away from their habitat of large bodies of water. Big business was able to silence this information. As a result of this, and other work, the lighting guidelines for towers have been changed and as a result communication towers are killing fewer birds. Studying EMFs is an important topic and other researchers specialize in that. Why are the birds disoriented in the first place? The radiation is the main culprit. Birds are very adept at flying thru skinny tangles of branches, they tend to nest in trees that have branches going in every direction. The birds are not dying because of the height nor the wires, they are dying because of the wireless radiation that we are polluting the entire world with.
