My art studio did this with a white board whenever we got bored and didn’t feel like actually drawing for a bit and our teacher felt really bad erasing our drawings whenever we needed the whiteboard for things, so now he’s planning to let us draw on the walls before we graduate :)

My coding/game design class had a similar whiteboard. It kept getting erased by janitors or something, but I managed to hide a little Loss coming in the corner behind a computer monitor, so it never got erased I have a few pictures of the final whiteboard, I drew a bunch of Slugcats on it

We did the same at my high school, but when they needed the board, they always made sure to snap a photo and print it out to hang on a separate board for just art. We also all signed the inside of the windows, so whenever someone opened the window, you'd just see "name, class of xx"

this is why i like public art spaces. like just some blackboard with chalk in some park or whatnot. some huge sheet of paper with pencils next to it on a door. this sort of thing is wonderful and you get to see what other people make. i love it

My sister did that with a lamb in my dad's office about 18 years ago. He's moved office so many times and each time he has to call maintenance and have the office whiteboard ripped off the walls and swapped because both he and the new office resident refuse to erase it. That little sketch of a lamb is older than some of the staff. It probably has more seniority and experience than half of the employees. There's a decent chance that it could be promoted to upper management!

My class did this last year. There was a pillar in the middle of our classroom, and three people put sticky notes on it. By the end of the year you couldn’t see the pillar anymore, the sticky notes had spread to the ceiling and the floor.

We used to have a full wall for sticky notes and doodles in my school's classroom, before directives took it down (and left it empty again), but it was a lot of fun, made the place feel more lively.

Technically bulletin boards are better than whiteboards because whiteboards have one and only one layer. Bulletin boards however have extreme quantities of layers, since you can technically just stack them. If a public artboard uses sticky notes, it theoretically has infinite layers, since the thumbtacks aren't there to take up space from other thumbtacks! Better yet: draw on the walls and THEN place sticky notes or thumbtacks or whatever! Graffiti!!!!!!!

At the first job I worked at, we had a "meme board." It was a little dry erase board we'd stolen from the office that we kept propped up on a wall shelf in the employee area next to our spare chargers and such. Someone would hand draw a meme (usually referencing something at work) and when one had been up there for long enough and someone was struck with inspiration, they'd erase the art and put up a new one for everyone to admire. We eventually had to take it down when we got a new manager, but it was fun while it lasted.

This is from when i was in uni (quite recent), specifically my friends who were in dorms (i was too broke for dorms oof but i did see the board im about to mention) They had a board in the common room and they added not just lil doodles but just random stuff... there was a SLINKY pinned to this thing, star of the show, front and center. They also had post-its and doodles drawn with markers on the windows, all the common rooms had these tall windows that can be seen by eachother so some messages would also be on these windows. One time on one of these windows it read "feet pics?" And someone in another part drew a foot onto post-its ToT

in my sophomore history class there were these two whiteboards where everyone drew different versions of the teacher making making a joke about his name (for the sake of this, lets call him mr.lanwell) and he loved it and hated when they were erased some of my favorites were: -him in a hospital bed with a broken leg that said "lan-fell" -him as a nutcracker that was pretty well drawn considering it was with a dry erase marker -him as kirby called "Kirbwell" -him really buff but with noodle legs "skipped leg day lanwell" -stick figure but with buff legs "only leg day lanwell" -him as hastune miku -him but evil hatsune miku -pirate doubloon cat -one where he's a really well drawn george washington say if you want more

I tried this in the elevator in my dorm. Various student groups would hang flyers all around, some were probably approved by some board, many probably not. People would sometimes write little nice notes in the margins, so I decided to make a dedicated one, hoping to create a little communal positive encouragement thing. It really seemed to take off because after just a day, there were already quite a few well wishes and kind notes. Then it got torn down after a week, and a new sign from the head of student housing in our building was put up in the elevator saying that no "freeform posters" were allowed to be hung in the dorms. That was a nice start to finals week.....

Personally this was my collage campus. The art building had a corkboard in the entry way on the 2nd floor. For at least 1 simester there was a pencil drawing of anime girl with an ahoge face holding a carton of milk that said "chunky milk." So fact of the day if you have a bulletin board or corkboard and a group of artists. Expect at least one of them to cause chaos.

My class has one section of the board for art and stuff and I was asked to put my artwork there. I was really honored so I took my time to draw out a hyper realistic dragon and I paste it at the back. A few days later it got taken off for no reason. The other art works are still there but mine is the only one taken down. I dont know who did it, to me I think it was the juniors who were sharing our class but still I dont know who did it.
