Silver/Bronze/Copper aren’t bad. Though some D23 may get some of these moving. Golden Age is pretty rough on the wallet though!

Nice work, Drew -- and thanks for the info about the Dec. 8, 1941 newspaper page. I had no idea. Dang, I could put together a long list of affordable Cap publications worth owning, but I'll limit myself to two here... Tales of Suspense 63 -- Cap's origin retold; good-lookin' copies can be had on eBay for under $100 and really nice ones for under $200. Avengers Annual aka King-Size Special 3 -- Contains the first reprint of Avengers 4, plus all three chapters of the Red Skull origin story from Tales of Suspense 66-68. Reasonable-looking copies can be had for $30 or $40 on eBay.

Also, because I'm super OCD, I just went and found the front page of the New York Times from December 8, 1941. Sure enough, that is the exact newspaper page that Cap is busting through. Every headline seen on the cover of Cap 109 is present.

Both great suggestions Tom! I had never thought about it being an actual newspaper that he was bursting through, so when I discovered what it was, it was just too good of a piece of information not to share! Thanks for checking out the new video!

I liked the Cap run that went from 152-155 (I think, going from memory), as well as the John Byrne run (247-255 ?) !

I enjoyed this video sat next to my copies of Captain America #106 and #193 which I have on the wall. Both great Kirby covers and very reasonably priced in mid to low grade. Can't believe you didn't feature Captain America #1 by Rob Liefeld.... 🤔

Awesome list, and I happen to have many of those, but one of my favorite CAP covers is one I bought off the newsstand (#230) with a Hulk appearance and battle. I was 13 years old and anytime the Hulk made an appearance in anyone's main title it was a huge deal. Almost an impossible task to select 10 comics, with so many others popping up in my head!

Picking the books is definitely the hardest part of my whole process. 1/3 picking the books. 1/3 writing the script. 1/3 producing/editing the video.

I’ll allow it! I don’t see many slabbed JCP reprints, so I think that’s pretty cool.

Another great lay down Drew, thanks! Cap is my all time favorite character. [BTW, it's "Dee - Noh] not "D eye noh" as in Dinosaur...sorry, couldn't resist from your last live stream where we agreed that we believe we can tell a short silver age book by it's "feel". Keep up the great work, always look forward to new episodes on your channel.

I always felt that Red Skull never really translated well to cover art, with Tales of Suspense 80 being an exception. So thanks for bringing 115 to my attention.

I’d love to have a Captain America Comics 3 (Red Skull’s 1st cover appearance) and a Captain America 74 (horror title attempt), but they are both 💰💰💰. FANTASTIC Red Skull covers though, but the two of them together equal a 🏡.

There's actually a couple here I still need to get 😯 most notably that reprint of CAC #1. Two of my recent favorites are Annual #8 (first Cap/Wolverine story) & #193 (first all-Kirby issue). Both of those are pretty affordable to get raw, so I only recommend slabbed copies to intermediate collectors who want to bulk up their Cap collection. But even as slabbed books go I don't consider $200-300 a piece to be ridiculous, considering how memorable both covers are 😎
@CoMoComicBooks2 жыл бұрын
Both great suggestions Matthew! I looked at Cap200 to get some of that later Kirby action in there, but talked myself out of it. Thanks for checking out the new video!

Love all the cap covers from 100 to 200 But my fave is the one h mentioned captain America comics 27 I recently sold my copy of that book in order to fund my sons wedding and I may never get over it Also issue 26 the shark cover with bazi divers is a blood second for me

Nice group of folks why did you not include captain America volume five number six the first winter soldier?
@CoMoComicBooks2 жыл бұрын
I had just talked about it in another video, or that’s what the voice inside my head told me. Definitely a book I’ve talked about on more than one occasion. 14 has always been a standout issue and is arguably just as meaningful as the Winter Soldier’s first appearance.

Why no Captain America 100 on the list?
@CoMoComicBooks Жыл бұрын
The Collector’s Series generally focuses on more affordable issues, often well under a couple hundred dollars, which would exclude Cap100 due to cost.
