Compact air compressor dissection and what to know before you buy one

Most reviewers who take these apart concentrate on battery life, but that's not the most important component. The pump mechanism is, and the O-ring used is specialized so you can't just replace it with a generic one, so lubricate it with high-end lube. Now Tinkseal is expensive but a tub goes a long way. You can also use Liquid Wrench's Dry Lube with Cerflon, which isn't as good but will do the job and while cheaper than Tinkseal initially, a tub of Tinkseal actually lasts longer as far as quantity
