Johnny needs to dig a window well for Kevin but rain is coming fast. Tim trains a new backhoe operator while digging for the egress window. The new 16" bucket for the 1025R is perfect!
Check us out at tractortimewith... for more information about our projects and family.
This tractor is similar in size and specs to the Kubota BX23s

I love having a 16 inch bucket moves a lot of dirt and empties out easier than smaller buckets. I always enjoy watching the young kid from down the street run my backhoe. he is older now and those are memories he will never forget. this video really brought a smile to my face. the backhoe is likely my favorite tool on the tractor. I guess when you have hand dug as much as I have in my life time it's no wonder I cherish the backhoe so much. thanks for the smile this brought to me, I truly needed it.

i'm a tad better today. the last few days have been rough. went to my regular Dr my BP was so high they wouldn't let me leave. a few days later I went to have another cancer procedure and my BP and anxiety was so bad they could not do it. yesterday my dog disappeared for several hours which is unusual for her. needless to say I was all to pieces over the dog, finally found her. she had ran off scared from some gun fire on the property next door. poor thing has as bad of anxiety as I do seems like it anyway. well thats some of the high lights of how things are going. I did finally sleep better last night. this morning I watched your video and it got my day off with a smile in my heart. I needed that smile to start this day! hope you and your family are doing well.

Thanks. I wrote up my opinion about bucket options here: tractortimewithtim.com/wordpress/2017/02/03/1023e1025r-260-backhoe-bucket-size/ After gettting the 16", I still have the same thoughts. Get the 16", and buy the bxpanded trencher bucket for trenching.

But like I said it sure is nice to a young lady out in the outdoors especially around the tractor. The way I learned with an excavator and a backhoe is the control type. The two types are ISO and SAE. ISO is the most common you’ll find which is left stick is stick and swing right is boom and bucket. Which means stick and swing is the extension and the swing of the “digging arm” and the boom and bucket is up and down bucket in and out. SAE is just the complete opposite. Once you understand how each other works and you know what is which then it’s just practice with getting comfortable on how sensitive they are.

have you ever thought about getting a canopy top, to avoid the controls of the john deere? it would be a good idea when it rains!
@TractorTimewithTim

Oh yea, thought a lot about it, especially after our trip to original tractor cab (originalcab.com). It would just be in the way when going under trees and stuff. Digging with the backhoe while in the pouring rain is not a common occurrence! Typically, Johnny is home, tucked into his nice warm/dry shed.

I have been watching you vids for two days now im pretty convinced to buy a 1025 r I do have to ask because you have bigger machines . This size machine with this large bucket does'nt seem to hinder it at all . I was not going to buy this add on because I sort of figured the machine was too small to use as a backhoe . I worked construction jobs all my life and we never had small machines on site.so I was a little gun-shy at this attachment ,however after watching I am taking back my thoughts on a sub compact backhoe

Owning the equipment and using it, TEN Xs different than owning and letting someone else use it. I love usein skids, tractors and the like but if I don't own it I wouldn't enjoy it as much. If that makes sense

Yes. I don't want to work for someone else. This isn't about money for us at this point. Instead, it is about a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Not trying to be a A-hole but you should not allow someone down in the hole and dig over their head like that

Ha. didn't take too long for someone to comment on this. No one dug OVER ANYONES head. The camera angles looked much worse than reality.
