DEI was never ,shouldn't ever be a public issue , with all the claims of racism here, the worse thing to do when the claims are true is to add another possible issue closed minded people will not handle properly. Americans have one thing in common with each other, our ancestors came here from somewhere else lol..FACT!! As a black female, I was never on the left or had liberal leaning. Actually, I was never on the right either. I was part of the groups who hated the government and didn’t trust neither of them. It wasn’t until the first time I voted in 2008 and I voted for the wrong reasons. But that taught me to start paying attention and I realized what I did wrong in 2008 and didn’t repeat that error in 2012.

Much needed conversation. I can tell you that when I was living in the heart of "woke", Sonoma County, Ca. I came to a personal conclusion that is was no place to raise a boy. So much pot culture there! Along with other problems that came starting with the summer of love. But, even before when people like Al Capone had wineries there. But, really, I am now concerned that California itself is no place to to raise a boy. But, I have been substituting in the high schools throughout a fairly conservative county. It seems that it's the influence of the state. It's more than the "woke" flags taking the place of religious symbols in the classrooms. In some sense, manhood is being relegated to gangland or other outside high school places. I once met a woman up in Sonoma County who wanted to write a book for first graders that would teach boys to be less boy like. She had it all worked out that boy should be told that there is something wrong with wanting to play with tools, blocks, firetrucks, etc. The book was supposed to teach the boy to conform to the point of view of school. The lady was presenting the idea to some lady who had something to do with getting books into the state schools. I couldn't help but suggest to them that maybe the schools should change to teach boys from the point of view of the boys' interests like they used to, say when my grandparents were in school. What's wrong with teaching boys to build buildings and bots and making that the basis of their academic thrust? I tutored girls who like magic more than school, but the schools had labeled the girls as too playful. What? Yet, for all the effort to squeeze kids into some state administrators idea of how a person should be, the kids in great numbers are not walking around with a good sense of quantity by the time they are in high school. It's really sad. Boys and girls are both being left behind. And, it's not about forcing kids into gender based roles. Tomboy girls might want to be full fledged women, later, but might want to play with the boys' toys to learn. Some boys might want to be in ballet, but they might seek masculinity through it. But, there seems to be some sort of attempt to reduce to people to "troubles at home" masses where interests are ignored and dumbing down studies is for some reason to reduce "stress". What happened to the time when we realized that creative outlets help people overcome their woes. And, what happened to the idea that education should serve to arm people with the knowledge to carry out their full pursuit of their creative potential?

Well put and people like the "book woman" are a danger to society. They have a reckless attitude towards the mental health and development of young people and eventually the children those young people will raise. As well as a complete disregard for the wishes and rights of those young people's parents to raise their children. It is a dangerous idea to allow narcissistic, irresponsible people like that to try to brainwash and change basic human traits. Who told them their "world view" is king? If we ever had another world war this country would lose because no one knows boundaries, self control or responsibility to self and each other, It's a sad state that these drug soaked ex hippy libs have created which will take 60 - 75 years to undo.

It might be closer than you think. You have to remember illegals don’t count, and are not counted in the census. My experience in Vegas shows about half of the landscaping business is performed by them. Landscaping business is huge in Vegas.

I can answer why I am not proud to be an American. Look at the definition of Proud "feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions" I was just born here. study what life is like for people your age in other countries, travel a bit and you may realize the amount of freedom and protection and assurance of reasonably safe food, drugs, products and health care received here. Also I recall my first trip outside the US after HS and I realized when you're in other countries you finally understand what t means to be protected at home. I hope that you will learn and grow and come to your own conclusions as is anyone's right and that his country you live in will allow you to have the best things in life it's citizenship offers.
