For my most wondrous grandson, who left us too soon at 16. Thank you Rickie Lee Jones for intpreting the ache of the heart of missing someone's company. Simple and profound, and hauntingly beautiful.

My Dad passed away 10 years ago today at the great old age of 87. We would get together every Sunday for dinner after I got out of work. He would meet me at his door with a great big hug. Gratitude beaming from his eyes. For the next 1 to 3 hours we would enjoy each other's company. Love and Miss you so much, Dad. Thanks, Rickie Lee💖

God bless the children and adults who were ripped from their lives in Newtown, CT. When I saw the anguish and tears on those who have lost these loved ones I thought about this song. Listening to it again, don't know if it would be a comfort or just add to what's to much to bear.

There is no song better than this song in that it fully expresses the feeling of losing love. What's more, this song sings that feeling of loss very beautifully, not falling into a dismal thing. The word galaxy, and the phrase I'll free you in my dreams, are representative of the skill of the writer in that regard. There is no resentment, just a void which the owner tries to adorn to live this off. And that emotion and intelligence of the owner of that soul is plainly beautiful. Respect.

To me, this is THE most beautiful song that's ever been written. It is equally the most beautiful performance and translation of a songs lyrics EVER and in every sense. Its a simply gorgeous vocal that does not diminish Rickie's unique sound; that magical thing she does that binds a song to its meaning which in turn delivers an all encompassing experience; an intelligent yet vulnerable Emotion that emanates through every instrument, every breath and absence of it, every word, note, and through the timing, the dynamics, and seemingly the production and recording professionals also just really "got it". This song slays me and I'm so grateful to have had it to run to for the last 20 years of my life. Thank you!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

No one can feel the impact of this song, unless you lost that special someone in your life. Either through death or through a painful break-up/divorce. I know because I lost that special someone through divorce and even though the years have passed, I am still crying for her company. She was my first love, my wife, my soulmate. I realize our paths may never cross again, and some lonely nights I lay in my bed and think of her, I still can feel her presence (and yearn for her company, reaching across the galaxy for her, and finding emptiness). Maybe in another life we may meet, but now I'm still crying for her company.
