Glad to see you back 1st Sgt. I'm actually reading Hardtack and Coffee right now, never thought to study the illustrations for furniture inspiration, very clever. Love your videos, have helped me quite a bit build up my impression. Thank you.

For a knock down table, using a crate (either found or homemade) you could take some lengths of PVC pipe attached to the inside corners of the box and then use sticks, dowels, or ripped 1x2's as legs. And because of my luck, I would add holes to the PVC inside the crate for wingnut screws to hold the legs in place so they won't fall out when you move your table. You can use the crate as storage on the way to camp and either use the dedicated legs or find some limbs to cut to length and then tighten them with the wingnuts. I want to start car camping again, but I'm looking to CIvil War and Medieval re-enacting so I can camp like a civilized person and not lay on the ground like a savage. :) I plan on making a platform floor out of pallet wood so I can sleep on an antique caster iron single bed with an old spring foundation with a ground mat on top and use blankets and quilts inside a straight walled Sergeant's tent with an old footlocker to hold my stuff during transport on my utility trailer. It won't be accurate, but it will be comfortable. :)

I can see how it wouldn't be too easy to pack with the legs on. Great vid, looking forward to the next one!

What's in the soup can? Some kind of saw lubricant I'm assuming. PS - That's a damn fine workshop.

Hey 1st Sgt. I came across your patterns for a haversack on the 2nd USSS website. Any chance we can get a build video on one? The instructions are pretty good, but not always super clear. A visual would be awesome.

That's a great idea. When I did the instructions, I made two of them to get the hang of it. I'll add it to the list. Thanks!
