We've got the Baratza Encore and couldn't be happier with it. When we needed a new ring burr they shipped me a new one at no cost. They've got a customer for life.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the comment. The Encore is a value favorite of mine for brew methods other than espresso. Baratza is a great company with excellent customer service and a wonderful fixed rate repair program. More info on that here: baratza.com/grinder-repair-program/ Marc

I bought the capresso infinity about a year ago, I debated the encore and kinda kicked myself for not buying it...the capresso is working great for pour overs , after hearing how loud the encore is I think I made the right decision....I would probably just go straight to the newest breville if I choose to upgrade

I have the Capresso Infinity. I only grind for coffee through my Keurig, and it works just fine for that.
@JayJay-jx3zg6 жыл бұрын
The Capresso was definitely the quietest, but which one is the easiest to clean?
@Wholelattelovepage6 жыл бұрын
Hi JS, They are all fairly easy and similar with twist out top burr. If any were to get the edge I'd say the Breville as it has a rigid wire hoop to help twist and lift the burr out.

It would be helpful to see how consistent each grinder ground the beans.

Hi MCM, Thanks for the comment! Some day I hope we can invest in a particle analyzer so we can share something beyond subjective opinions of grind consistency. Marc

I just opened the box to my Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder. I cannot get the bean container onto the base even though I have lined up the dots. Please help.
@Wholelattelovepage2 жыл бұрын
Hi SP, Hopefully you got it together. Sometimes the top burr assembly is not in the proper position which could prevent the bean hopper from mounting properly.
@GenZyannd6 жыл бұрын
If you want the Baratza Encore, and you need the exact amount of ground, does it make sense to leave the hopper empty, and measure the exact amount of beans and then grind?
@Wholelattelovepage6 жыл бұрын
Hi GZ, Thanks for the question. You can do that! The Baratza Encore, Virtuoso, Vario and Forte grinders are fairly low retention - typically ~1g.

HELP! I’m torn between the breville, capresso infinity plus and the Ariete conical burr as well. I switch between using a French press and moka pot mostly, but also love Turkish coffee and have a hand grinder for that, but if any of those can do that too and make my life easier, then that’d be a nice bonus. Thanks again!

Hi p, Thanks for the question. IMO you should have a look at the Baratza Virtuoso+: www.wholelattelove.com/products/baratza-virtuoso-coffee-grinder It's a far superior grinder to the others and has the widest grind size range of those mentioned running 200 - 1400 microns. That's also the widest grind size range of any Baratza grinder. Has the best shot of any for doing your Turkish Marc

@@Wholelattelovepage my capresso infinity will easily make turkisk coffee but not ever french roast..Grind size slants towards finer..

Hi M, Thanks for the comment! Baratza has excellent support for their products including a flat rate repair program. More info here: www.baratza.com/grinder-repair-program/ Flat rate repair for the Encore is $45 for any work except burr replacement.

Can any of these be used to grind macadamia nuts? They're larger than a coffee bean so I'm not readily sure.

That is way cool that you can just grind right into drip or pour over baskets. The fewer steps to do in the morning the better lol

I heard the capresso doesn't last long due to it using plastic gears
@Wholelattelovepage6 жыл бұрын
HI MM, In my experience it's fairly robust compared to grinders in similar price range. Do understand it is a lower cost option as far as grinders go.

Can the encore, capresso be "hacked" like other cheaper grinders to produce a finer grind, suitable for espresso?
@Wholelattelovepage4 жыл бұрын
Hi SB, Maybe? I wouldn't... It's a PITA to use for espresso.

can the capresso infinity work with the breville duo temp espresso machine? how fine should i grind the coffee?
@Wholelattelovepage6 жыл бұрын
Hi PS, Thanks for the question. It can. You'll likely get the best results using the dual wall (pressurized) filter baskets. They are forgiving of small errors in grind size. You want to grind fine like a little finer than granulated sugar. Marc

Is there a grinder speed spec for each of the grinders
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith, the Baratza Encore is 450rpm, Capresso Infinity 420rpm. Breville rpm spec not published but is similar.

Hi guys - I have a Nespresso Inissa and I want to use fresh coffee beans with reusable capsules instead of the Nespresso ones. What's your take on using the Capresso Infinity to grind the beans for the capsules? Love your reviews! Thanks!
@Wholelattelovepage7 жыл бұрын
Hi Aymen, thanks for the question. The Infinity can grind for espresso but not the best choice.
@aymenbattikh11117 жыл бұрын
+Whole Latte Love Thank you Marc & Morgan for the reply. I know that there are way better grinders out there, but I'm the only coffee drinker in the house and use 2 to 3 capsules a day tops. So I can't justify the cost of a higher end grinder. Which one would you likely recommend for daily use and for a good price? Would a ceramic burr grinder (manual) suffice? Please advise. Thanks!

The encore's cup has an anti-static coating, which helps to avoid the coffee from jumping out. Not sure if that is the reason it is not transparent.
