Mark, I run a bed and breakfast and have such build problems with my Gaggia Accademia and am now wanting to replace it for a Jura XS90. I have two questions about the XS90: 1) Reviews I have read suggest that the XS90 does not have a fresh seal lid for the bean hopper, is this true or does it have a good seal; and 2) I buy gallons of distilled water to use for my super-automatics and was wondering if I need the water filter if I always use distilled water and if distilled water affects the coffee taste negatively. Thanks for replying.

Hi Michael, Sorry you are having problems with the Accademia. I've been using the same one daily in the studio here for 3+ years. If I remember was it a carafe handle issue you were having? Anyway... XS90: It does not have a gasket on the hopper lid like you'll find on some machines. In my opinion if you like the machine otherwise that's not a big deal. Could a better seal make a slight difference? Maybe if storing beans in the hopper for a very long time. But, if you are going through beans within a few days it's going to make very little difference. Fresh, fresh, fresh is a theme in coffee equipment so manufacturers market the "Aroma Seals" Etc. but think it's more about marketing than cup quality. Distilled water: The SCAA recommends a certain level of minerals in brew water for best coffee flavor. As you probably know, distilled water has very little, and in most cases no mineral content. I would think in the long run, a water filter would cost less and be easier to use than distilled water. Using the filter will condition the water to proper mineral content and remove chlorine. Depending on your tap water hardness level using a water filter can eliminate descaling or seriously extend the time interval between descaling.

bean cover seal doesnt make much effect in operation and ferformance of machine,you can use water filter if you use normal tap water. no need of filter if you are using filter drinking water.yes impresa xs 90 ot is the best machine for office and small resurats.

How many cups per day can it do?
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
It can do them back to back as quick as they can be made.

Thanks for the reply. This means it can do even 600 cups a day?

Obed Makori Cups per day is a bit misleading but Jura rates these machines for ~100/day. Don't think this is the right choice if you're looking to do 600/day.
