I think it might be faster if you sometimes pull out during drilling to clear debris. Otherwise it just wastes impact energy into shoving debris around inside the hole. The comparison would be more informative if power ratings of both devices were shown.

Am I the only one who thought the Bosch seemed to be drilling faster at first, but then slowed down toward the end? Didn't realise it was two Makita reps until I came to the comments, but now I kinda suspect the guy with the Bosch just let off the pressure to let the Makita overtake him.

To be honest i'm a construction worker I have both makita and bosch hammer drill Same as in the video From my experience the bosch impact is slightly better than the makita But both are amazing machine

I still go for Bosch... Because i noticed the Bosch guy never shake.. Less vibration.. Less shoulder injuries compare to Makita... If you want more better go for Hitachi anti vibration hammer drill. Logic, If company focus on vibration,then they have to lose little power...

Drill bit plays a big part. Both must use new and same type model of drill bit before drilling.

Bosch was from the start focused on reliability on all hammer drill, beeing the slowest of all, have the slowest wear of all, and from this comes the best durability over time. But still perfoamance are on good and very acceptable, is a small compromise for big durability.

I recently bought a new SDS plus hammer drill and was comparing the Bosch and the Makita. The Makita was a fair bit less expensive because it was on a special offer. Normally they were roughly the same price. The Bosch used to be made in Germany, but now it's made in Mexico. I went with the Makita and saved some money. If the Bosch was still made in Germany, I would have ponied up the extra dough, but it isn't.
