The MSX version fits onto a 16k rom. Those Japanese MSX games were designed for Japanese systems. Small things like music tempo, refresh rate and the screen being stretched will not be quite as intended on an original European setup. The C64 version probably programmed in the UK would have the opposite problem if running on a ntsc system

Not so much technical as design issue at stake here: the C64 version could have been way better designed

The C64 is so much better that I'm impressed, image quality, sounds, colors, movement... Is this MSX from the same time period as C64? U know that MSX has a very bad scrolling that plagued it until the end, but seeing it side by side with the C64 smooth scrolling is just cruel :D

Yea, but aside from scrolling everything else is better for this particular game

@@RetroDreamThat's all very interesting. I never had a Commodore as it was not a thing here. I grew up playing MSX and ZX Spectrum games so I was somewhat mystified by C64 (and Amiga later) back then. I'm now in the market to buy one of those FPGA based MSX for some nostalgia.
