I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the FDA doesn’t recall Purina foods. Nestle has the government in their pocket. Beneful was never recalled and neither has Pro Plan. If this were a small raw food company that wasn’t a food giant that owns a good chucking the food market, they would have been recalled and possibly sued a long time ago.

Has it ever occurred to you that the scientific consensus about the things in those foods that you think are bad show that it’s not actually harmful? The way I see this is very real world oriented. Many show dogs and working dogs are fed purina pro and they’re all healthy and age well into the double digits. Veterinarians across the world see no issues with dogs coming in being poisoned or harmed by purina foods. But let me guess they’re all in bed with purina. All the evil vets. They go to school driven by their desire to help animals just to be bought off and harm dogs. 😂😂😂 That thinking is projection on your part just like the rest of your conspiratorial thinking.

With the over the top costs of vet care these days, im sure MANY aren't taking their sick pets in. If you are feeding these foods, i doubt you can afford $500 for a physical, let alone a vey sick pet.... that will need testing!!!!! .... a yearly physical in my clinic has gone up 5X the normal price because a large chain bought them. I feel like there is a big push for people who arent in a certain class not to own pets. By raising the cost, people will not have pets, just like what is happening with children.

Yes. A normal yearly exam with basic blood work and heartworm test and fecal is now $450!!! The blood work alone has gone up from $140 to $256 in just one year! I will likely not be getting a yearly exam in the future. Will only be taking them in if there is a medical need I just spent $550 for a same day appointment with blood work and now need to go back for an ultrasound at $506.50 plus the vet office fees I appreciate my integrative vet very much however it's getting so out of reach that I will need to use TSC for annual heartworm tests and that will be the annual.

We lost our beloved Versace, a 9 YO male shorthair kitty this month after being diagnosed with a UTI two months ago. Had him on 5 weeks of antibiotics, which did nothing, and soon thereafter he was found to have lymphoma. Tried all the treatments and chemo for that. Didn't work. Absolutely heartbreaking watching him suffer through it all. Along with our doubts about the safety of the dry food, and occasional "goop" (gravy lovers turkey can) we also realized that the UTI started days after we tried a new "non-sticking, clean paws" cat litter. For the record, he was an indoor only cat who had no problems at all eating the same food for nine years. I believe in my heart that the non-stick coating and/or fragrance they sprayed on that litter (Febreeze) played a role. I truly hope no one is forced to experience what we've been through. Thank you Judy for being brave enough to let people know. It's nowhere on mass media.

@@lindaed3594 sounds good pretty much the same. I add in coconut oil, (or another good oil not seed oil) 1T ground flax, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I use whatever veges I have on hand and fruits, she loves mashed pumpkin, stewed apple or grated with grated carrot, chopped greens. I’ll be introducing raw milk soon as I’ll start my new pup on this diet too. Like babies I watch what she likes and is good for her.

I was pressure cooking apples (sliced chunks, no core but incl the peel ) potatoes with peel on (but stopped that too cos l read potato peel isn’t good for them) & carrots. Wanted to ensure enough fibre, was concerned about putting too much carbohydrate in there as not sure if glucose spikes happens in dogs as with humans. My near 3 yr old dog has had issues with anal glands, very itchy bottom since young. Numerous vets & consultations, anal expressions by them plus of course ’special’ diets, single protein & expensive kibbles hasn’t solved the problem. Also she just keeps chewing/nibbling at her front paws…

@@lindaed3594 I've had the same issues. She's been on raw food for 3 years but her allergies were a little better but not gone, plus she had a back leg injury. In Feb I cut out all beef (we do goat, veal,tripe from raw essentials pet food here in nz) and added in the coconut oil, ground seeds. She no longer eats her feet, sometimes whole paws in her mouth. Her inflammation completely gone and no more limping. She also does the itchy skid on the grass but I got some ointment as she had a persistent itchy spot just outside her anus. I stopped the worming tablets a year ago as this upsets the microbiome. She is the best she's ever been. I think perseverance and finding what works. I also did bone broth in the beginning to help the microbiome every second day now its fortnightly or weekly. Hope this helps im researching for my new puppy as my last two dogs had allergies, is it the food or because they combine the injections into a single dose, im not sure but finding the info.

Thanks to the lack of response or care by the petfood companies and the FDA, I have lost all faith in the food industry for pets or people. Our new pup is getting homemade food, mostly raw and I am working on switching the cats over to homemade. I stopped feeding kibble many years ago. The cats are harder to switch over, unfortunately. ❤Thank you for your diligence! This makes me sick and angry. As a pet parent I have to pray I'm not unintentionally killing my kids every time I feed them. Make your own food, for dogs. Cats can be tricky, they refused the home made recipes unless mixed with 50% commercial cat food, so that's what I do.

I had a perfectly HEALTHY 4 year old Rottie who is now diagnosed with Lymphoma. Fed Purina Pro Plan since a puppy.. and I noticed the food drastically changed and he wouldn't eat it. I should have taken him off this food and made my own. Now my days are filled with medications in order to keep him comfortable until I send him home across The Rainbow Bridge.... I feel robbed-defeated-angry, because he should have had a longer life. My 13 year old Rottie passed away also, and had trouble his last year with this food, and I can only attribute it to the dog food.

In 2012 I had a standard poodle that became very very sick, bloody diarrhea, and had nothing found wrong with him as to the cause. I believe it was the Purina dog food that I was feeding. I took him off the food. He eventually got better, but he was also an older dog, and he never got back to the health he was in beforehand. This is so so sad.

Purina was involved with the chicken feeds that were defecient in nutrients for chickens,that caused chickens to stop laying eggs,that alone made me boycott all the major brands before this crisis. We have a 4yr old German Shepard named Tsuki who’s been on Purina Pro Plan since a puppy. Bouts of vomiting and refusal had replies from Vet saying “GSD have Gastro issues. Chicken & rice”. Few days of that she’d be better & would eat. I started FreshPet, all better. Mix it 1/2 & 1/2 with Purina. Ate it for a while then repeat vomiting & refusal. Now this latest stretch of not eating, not playing (she loves her squeaky balls) she’ll eat the FreshPet but refuses when it’s mixed with Purina. I’m at my wits end seeing my pup not eating and being ill.

Great information, Dr. Morgan! I had also come to the same conclusion when I was writing up all of the pet food recalls since 2007 for my Masters Project in Pet Food Safety. You and Susan have explained this so well. Another interesting change this year, is that if you have been subscribed to the FDA Pet Food Recall announcements, they have changed into something called "Enforcement Reports," and you have to re-subscribed to them. They are also now combined with human food Enforcement Reports, thereby implying that human food and pet food are the same. However, pet food comes through the 'animal food supply chain' which falls under a far less strict series of pet food safety regulations. An example is that meat destined for pet food is allowed to travel in unrefrigerated cars for up to 3 days. I know that Susan Thixton has talked about this at length on her website, as do I on my KZbin and Spotify channels. I personally make my own dog food and often use Dr. Judy Morgan's recipes. As a fellow veterinarian of 40 years, I trust her research and appreciate it.

Gave my cats a tiny amount of Merricks Purrfect Bistro tuna to try back in December 2023. I'm 100% positive it gave my cats explosive yellowish diarrhea that smelled AWFUL. They had horrible gas, didnt want to be touched, and wouldnt eat anything unless it was topped with churu. I turned to feeding them baby food with a churu topper bc they werent even drinking water the first day. It was such a busy time with holidays and weather, I didn't think to send a complaint in until after i had already thrown out the food. I really try to be aware of ungredients and recalls now, but its hard to keep track of everything and now I find out companies are doing stealth recalls... Wellness has been fine so far, but I have half a mind to just go homemade at this point 😅

What do i feed my cats? Making raw cat food seems to be so complicated with amount of taurine you need and portion of other stuff. My cats do eat purina and so many other brands can be sold under different labels but still a part of purina. I have had them to refuse some of the dry purina they normally would eat and something told me there was something wrong with it. I usually just tossed out. Its so frustrating. Cats are finicky eaters to begin with and you get excited when they eat something. So disappointed in our food industry generally. Even our food appears so tainted and full of bad ingredients.

I'm a new pet owner, so I don't have much experience overall on pet foods, but have done research and experimented over the past year. My cats are picky with certain things so I understand the frustration (not a fan of lamb, duck, or shreds) 😅 I've raised them since feral kittens found in my yard on pate-type wet food, so it's always a toss up whether they like something not a pate'. I always go grain-free, look at the ingredients (at least the first 5), and read reviews online from pet owners and experts. Also, I just learned that carageenen can be bad for pets but was in some of the food I was feeding them, so I have to look out for that now. I stick with Wellness since it's pretty good quality for the cost, and Weruva as a once a week thing since it's expensive. I have never seen my cats eat faster than when I gave them the Weruva hydrating puree pate', they loved it. Also the Weruva pumpkin puree packets are great for my girl who is a food vacuum that needs to hydrate more. Recently got a fantastic deal on some The Honest Kitchen wet foods and they really like those too. As for dry food, I've always used Blue Buffalo Wilderness. It's decent, but I'm still looking around for other dry food options that won't break the bank. (I feed them 2 wet meals and small amounts of dry food in-between daily btw)

Most likely because the world is sue happy. If you don't go through the steps in the proper legal steps, you will get slapped with a lawsuit to keep you quiet. That would not help anyone! She got results from the first batch and reported the results (inconclusive) on a prior video. Dr. Judy has spent thousands of dollars of her own money getting samples independently tested, but it's not her responsibility to front the money for this. My Chihuahua was started on kibble as a pup. He was itchy and was red but his skin didn't look bad. My vet gave him a allergy test and he gets a Heska shot monthly with apaquel and Science diet presciption food at 1 year old. He is now 7. He has anal gland issues, nail biting and licking everything in the house. He has now changed over to hydrolized and is even worse. I'm disabled and scared. I need someone to help me with this. I took him off the apaquel after seeing your videos. This food makes him so hungry all the time and he is never satisfied. He cries all the time and goes under the bed. Another vet gave him some anxiety meds because he is so stressed. I'm trying to get him off of this horrible food. He goes a long time without urinating sometimes. I need advice as to what to do. He had a allergy test 6 years ago and he showed allergies to milk, oats and beef. That's all. Environmental allergies were the worst. Every time rain is on the way he goes crazy in misery and cries out sometimes. It's so hard to see him liking this. Does anybody know if farmers dog is good or not? I gave Rockie my Dog some carrots and broccoli with his kibble and he liked it but he begs for the kibble that I extracted from it. Anyone else experience this? Any advice would be such a blessing. I wish I could speak to this lady in person. I really need help. Thank you!

Go with one of the small independent brands if he won’t give up the kibble and supplement with homemade veggie mix, add some omega 3 fatty acids for inflammation and probiotics.

I just gave up on reporting to these companies way back when! They just dont give a !"'^. I since learned only a few companies make the food and tag it to celebrities or others. Basically ALL NEEDS TO START OVER....FROM SCRATCH!!!!!

I just went to my vet for a checkup for my pug and chihuahua and they said oh she needs to go on a diet she's 30 lb she needs exercise I said well I have her on salmon and sweet potato through Natural Balance and she seems to be doing very well on it well all the foods we recommend is Science Diet Royal and if you look at the bags and I go in there every time there's corn meal corn this by products the food is garbage that's in the pet stores and their food look at their food I looked at their food that's in the lobby and it's no better and it's 88 $90 for sensitive stomach Science Diet Hills it's ridiculous I found that this Natural Balance salmon and sweet potato and a little bit of turkey every day and she has a knee problem so I have to dress that before I start marching around on cement is why I was there it's sort of was very addressed to me like I'm not doing my part as a pet owner and she's 8 years old and you know we just came out of winter hello

I had my interview with the FDA and they never called back and never tested my food. Thankfully both dogs in my house are doing well now that they're not on kibble.

FDA never do their Jobs.....PURINA dose NOT care and that is what I feed my 2 fur babies they go through 60 Cans of PURINA CAN FRISKIES CASES. Im switching to Sheba but its too expensive to feed 2 Im now feeding it to the male who seems thinner than my girl who is over weight. Now I quess I better look for other brands of can food

Hill's Science Diet nearly killed my cats 20 years ago. I switched to making my own raw food and they did much better. Just wanted to add a comment to get this video in front of more pet owners. Do people at Purina actually feed their own pets this garbage? Very disheartening news.
