Tip for color remover, go to Sally's and get the Ion color remover. It's a small pouch that you mix with hot water (you can mix with 20 vol developer if you need to remove black or a very very dark color) once mixed, it will be a gel consistency. This product is amazing and doesn't hurt your hair. I would still do a conditioner simply because things of this nature will pull the oils put of your hair, but no damage that's going to last past a conditioner.

Arctic Fox transferred so much when my hair was dry too!!! I used a mixture of Aquamarine and Poseidon and it would stain my hands and nail polish if I touched my hair, it even rubbed off on the back of my couch just from me leaning back! It also faded out super green.

I found it was color dependent for me. The blues transferred like crazy. The pinks and oranges and reds did fine for me.

I've never had a issue with transferring and I live somewhere with really bad humidity so the air is always moist. And I've never had it transfer... other then when wet the first few washes. Wash your hair with cold water until the water is clear.... if not... theres still dye in your hair 🤷🏼‍♀️

Update: I dyed my hair purple with lunar tides and I LOVE IT!! I’ve had it in for about a month and it’s way better than Arctic fox, it never transferred, not even when it was still wet freshly dyed. And it has lasted way longer than the blue Arctic fox, I wash my hair like 3 times a week and my color is basically the same as when I just dyed it

I fucked up a part of this video when I was talking about the damaging process! I made it come across as the dye itself causes damage, but I meant to say the lightening process specifically such as bleaching and toning causes damage, and the dye helps condition it afterwards and makes it bounce back. I had problems with my hair dieing as well. This may sound weird... But I got one of those color wheels and it has saved my hair more. So understanding the color wheel can save your hair. So right now your hair is green teal. So put in a orange and scrub it out and go next color. Seriously works. ❤❤❤

I experienced the exact same colour bleeding thing with Arctic Fox! I used to have their Enchanted Forest green and for months I had a green neck, green pillows, green hands when I rested my head on my hands in my sleep, and green clothes lol. Then had Manic Panic colours which just faded really quickly. And now I have a few tubs of Lunar Tides Cyan Sky Blue and I'm so excited!

Your hair looks gorgeous! This was so helpful, i bleached my hair again some days ago and ever since then i've been unsure what brand i want to use. I've worked with arctic fox before, they did work well enough (i tried mostly the blue shades, they faded slightely green-ish / grey-ish, but my hair was not platinum blond but more... slightly yellow before i died it, so there's that) and they stayed on a decent amount of time. I did have the same problem with the color staining everything my hair touched, especially when wet, too; my bedsheets were completely blue after two weeks (after washing the sheets the color was removed). I thought about using lime crime since i heard some good things about them but after checking a little more detailed i heard a lot more bad opinions so i guess i'm not gonna use these. I've heard of lunar tides before, but i haven't really looked them up. So far the reviews were all positive, your video explained really well why you liked them, and seeing your hair is a good point too, it looks amazing! Do you know if the colors they advertise and show online are the actual colors that show up on bleached hair? Or are there any misleading pictures?

From the colors I tried they’re pretty spot on! They might be a little lighter in person, the dark green I used wasn’t as dark as the picture but I did put it on top of a brighter green so that may have been why

If you ever try pink i very very highly recommend Dragonfruit Pink Lunar Tides. It was the brightest dye i’ve ever seen, smelled like fruits and didn’t burn / itch.

I've never had arctic fox transfer to anything but it did fade really fast and wouldn't take in certain areas of my hair I'm trying lunar rides next and I hope its works better

i never had any issues with Arctic Fox, but I had tons with Manic Panic. Manic Panic would just bleed constantly and rub off on everything leaving color everywhere it was a nightmare. The best semi permanent hair dye I have used was Adore, it is thinner compared to Arctic Fox and the rest, but in return its more pigmented and after washing it 2-3 times in a 2 week period it stops bleeding and would only lose color when shampooing hair and it came out almost true to what the dye looked like as well.

@@Prettyplutokitty Adore has more than just fantasy colors, it also has natural colors , and a clear too. Adore is by creative image. I usually buy mine on amazon by sundance or pharmapacks, but some larger towns have stores that sell it. Its usually between $5-$7 depending on where you get it.

I'm suprised about the color transfer with artic fox, I havent had any at all with phantom green. I'm dying to try lunar tides tho for real. I have found it to be patchy when fading though it gets yellowy spots mostly towards the tips.

the color you have on is beautifully vibrant! and i think the problem with arctic fox - that it transfers on your sheets - might happen when you don´t use shampoo the first time you wash it after applying. any time i used classic shampoo it didn´t transfer, not even when wet from the lake or rain.

@@willowwolf123 yes, i usually keep the dye on for about 3 hours (you can leave it on up to 5 but i don´t think it makes a big difference) and then wash my hair with shampoo. in that case, the color doesn´t transfer. i love arctic fox colors because they´re so vibrant but unfortunately they fade out pretty quickly. in 2 months you have your bleached white hair again (except for red, i had Wrath and couldn´t get that out of my hair for a year!)

Try pravanna been using it for 8yrs. Only transfers when wet the first couple weeks and lasts legit for at least 2 months. Also the color transfer comes right out in the wash so no staining. It will stain your shower/tub but comes off easy with softscrub and only does it the first couple washes. Also temporary dyes do not damage your hair, only developer or bleach damage it. Hair feeling better after dying is usually additives, it's not actually fixing anything. You can do the conditioner trick with any temporary color.

I've been dying my hair for 6ish years and artic fox has never transferred for me when dry.... and almost never transferred when wet unless it was super wet. But I agree it does fade pretty fast but if you're looking to dye your hair regularly that's probably the best decision.... that or manic panic as manic panic when it fades doesn't go as patchy. And fades rather fast but not bad. I've also used splat which works fine for me but if you want to dye your hair regularly don't get splat. Also ion colours don't work they don't dye properly and they fade super fast

Iroiro purple when wet transfers to an annoying degree but it was a really fun vibrant color that lasted about three months. The pink lasted only a few washes. But my friend used the blue and told me they didnt have any color transfer. So I guess it's up to the shade?

Gotta say, arctic fox does indeed transfer if you only rinse. But I've learned from that mistake pretty quickly and actually just use a mild shampoo straight after dyeing. Also dont wash my hair every other day, so I keep my colour for a pretty long time. Anyway, since Arctic Fox isn't available in Europe at the moment, I'm looking for a different brand, and if it is indeed as good as you say, I will probably fully transer to lunar tides haha. Eventhough I have my routine, I HAVE to change it up, and if it's this much easier? Welp I guess I won't go back hahaha.

I’ve definitely done the just rinse thing but even using the mildest shampoo I could find I had issues, maybe the batches just differ and I had bad luck lol but definitely try them out! I hadn’t even thought of it being available in Europe so that’d be cool!

ive tried lime crime before (my pfp i split dyed it genie and chocolate cherry) and it washed out literally as soon as i took a shower, i literally cried in the shower. it was G O N E. i hated it so much, the colors were pretty but they were really pastel when i was expect BAM BRIGHT so that was upsetting. so i watched this to see which one i should buy from, im definately going to buy from lunar tides now. (in british pounds its £9 for the LT £14 for lime crime but it varies on all websites, and its £!0-£16 on arctic fox)

I didn’t have any transferring issues with lunar tides out of the normal stuff! So if your hair is wet it may transfer while the water bleeds from it, but if your hair is dry there should be no issues from my experience with them

Hi! Yes I do bleach my hair, my natural hair color is that brown you see at my roots, but I bleach my hair as light as possible and tone it to get rid of the brass tones, so that there’s no yellow/gold interfering with whatever color Im putting on top (think of it like using a crayon on white paper instead of yellow, or dark brown, so the color is more true to itself and has an easier time showing up)

Here is a little more info on damage. Direct/ semi permanent hair color DOES not damage the hair AT ALL unless you lighten first. There is no chemical reaction. The dye molecules to not change the hairs natural color/state. They simply sit on top of the hair. The damage begins when you lighten first, or use demi or permanent color. Adding the developer is what causes the chemical reaction and actually changes the color. Just a little science lesson for those that are just starting out. You CAN dye your hair safely. Also loreal color remover is not made for the semi permanent color used here. Something like pulp riot blank canvas with a 10vol. Developer is a much better idea. Also don't try to bleach out semi colors. Bleach actually sweels the color molecules and it can be a mess that just adds damage.

Depends! I used half a jug but I mixed it with conditioner because it’s pigmented enough to still have full vibrancy when diluted!! It’s pretty thin and a little goes a long way, one jug lasted me two full applications, just depends on if you want to dilute it or not

So not to be rude but not all hair color will damage your hair. Semi permanent dyes or direct dyes are non damaging. It’s literally impossible for them to damage your hair. You may be experiencing product buildup. That will give your hair the appearance and texture of being damaged. Those dyes only deposit pigment onto the hair and do absolutely nothing to harm your hair.

I wish I would have seen this video before I bought hair dye. I paid 19.99 for the big bottle of artic fox. I bought the color ritual which is a deep almost wine red and all my bed sheets are white. I'm so scared of turning them red now.

It's interesting to hear that Arctic Fox faded fast for you. I put in Purple Rain with a blue and pink from another brand. The other brand faded super fast but the purple is still holding on. Maybe the other brand just fades faster than AF😂

They bleed at normal times, so when you’re hair is wet or getting washed, but I haven’t had it bleed any other time, and the amount it bleeds is normal if not less than most

Yes I did! I have naturally dark brown hair which you can see at my roots, if I put the dye over that brown I would most likely just get a slight teal hue on top of the brown rather than a drastic color change although lunar tides does have some colors meant to go over darker hair!

Semi permanent dyes are conditioning dyes they do not damage. They do not open the cuticle (a.k.a. lift the hair) they deposit on top of your hair and stain the hair.

Shelby McCann Im aware of the mistake I made, some other people commented the same thing, I have issues with keeping a solid train of thought and also some memory issues so it’s hard for me to remember what Im saying sometimes! I meant to specify the bleaching and toning process, not the dye itself, but the dye helps bounce back from whatever damage is caused by lightening. - sincerely not a cosmetology student but a person trying their best.
