So glad things have improved. You look so well. Pain and bleeding is horrendous and really isnt taken seriously by medical practitioners. Xxx

Thank you 💕 It's so sad and frustrating that people go years with intense pain and symptoms before getting diagnosed and treated all while doctors just casually brush off and minimize the suffering. Luckily I found a good doctor relatively early on but unfortunately that is unusual...

I have my surgery date for Dec 7. I am both, excited and nervous. I am happy that I am finally going to have this done because I have severe adenomiosis and stage 4 endometriosis- I even have endometriosis growing INSIDE my colon (Recently had a colonoscopy to confirm this). So I will be having a hysterectomy and a partial colectomy. I am nervous because I will be recovering from two major surgeries and it’s scary just because of how fragile these illnesses make the body feel. So it’s hard to imagine that I’ll have the strength to recover. My doctor is my 8th opinion. I wasn’t going to settle until I found a doctor that truly understood what I was going through. (I also dealt with a lot of doctors saying I was too young to get a hysterectomy.) I started seeing doctors for endometriosis since I was 24. I just turned 30 two weeks ago. So yes, it’s been a long road. Thank you for sharing your journey because so far you are the most relatable journey I’ve found! I’ve felt so alone this whole time and your videos come as a ray of sun!

I am so happy for you to get the treatment that you need! It's crazy how so few doctors seem to understand this stuff. The only thing they seem to know is that we're too young for a hysterectomy no matter how sick and debilitated we are which is one of the wildest things to me. Like you want me to keep my uterus in case I might eventually want a baby yet I am too sick to even take care of myself??? Like where is the logic in that??? It truly enrages me how so many women literally lose years of their lives because doctors refuse the treatment they need. You're about to get the hardest part over with which is a huge milestone but I also know that recovery can be a lot slower than expected. I'm almost a year and a half post op and still have some issues with back/ hip pain and nausea (but absolutely no where near what I was dealing with before). I think my nervous system got super out of whack from being so sick but I haven't found the right doctor yet to help me figure it out the rest of the puzzle. I hope your surgery goes good and I wish you the best during recovery! I'm so happy you found my story helpful💜 (also I am so sorry for taking forever to reply. I've been overwhelmed by life recently and my priorities shifted away from KZbin for a bit)

You will get through this. I just had mine, similar (I had a small watermelon growing in my uterus -adenomyosis as well as the motherload of endo growing all over everything). They took my tubes, my left ovary (as it had an endometrioma growing into my bowel and then the whole mass was growing into my left side, like my lateral muscle), I also ended up having an appendectomy as the endo had inflamed my appendix. I also had another cyst removed from my right ovary and at least I got to keep it. My uterus with the small watermelon had grown into the bowel and then had attached itself to my lower back muscle on the left hand side so they had to peel the uterus off of the bowel before tossing it. I did not have a colectomy however, but they did put a scope up my colon during my procedure, as they weren’t sure if it was growing inside the colon or not as it was growing all over the outside. Almost a 7 hour surgery but hey, the surgery itself is a walk in the park because you won’t feel any of it because you will be out cold. The recovery is the difficult part I’m finding and is a journey. I’ve never had major surgery before and what I would recommend to you is just let yourself rest. Rest, rest rest. I’m an athlete and it was very hard to give up my lifestyle for this but like me, you will start to see the benefits slowly as you heal. My heart truly goes out for you and I hope you are doing ok! I had to fight my battle to get a hysterectomy for about 7 or 8 years too so I know your have been suffering while putting up with your symptoms. I’ve had a few bumps in the road during my recovery like a massive migraine, a UTI and bleeding after the surgery but I’m feeling better every day. Just be kind and patient to yourself. Once the surgery is over, you will get better each day and each day you will slowly reclaim your life back.Trust me, it’s worth it. It may seem hard or even impossible at the beginning, but it will get better and just remember, no more periods!!!❤

Medical gaslighting is a thing. Whether people want to see that or not I don’t know what to tell them. I’ve been dealing with fibroids and now possible endometriosis. I’ve had the fibroids for years along with a retroverted uterus. Both of which have caused a lot of pain for a lot of years. I’m almost 42 and I can’t remember a time when I’ve had “normal” periods. I wanted to have a hysterectomy many years ago but doctors refused to even consider it. Even when I was 17/18 years old. I knew I didn’t want to have kids. I knew that because of a dog attack when I was 4 that a vaginal birth would likely never happen for me. What did doctors say? “You’re too young”, “you don’t know what you want yet”. I even got told by a woman doctor, who’d diagnosed the fibroids, that I was just being selfish and not wanting to give my mom grand babies. Yeah, not if it’s going to unalive me via a stroke from the blood pressure the pain caused. I’m FINALLY getting mine next week. And all I want to do right now is scream HALLELUJAH!

Ugh the medical gaslighting stings even more when it comes from women doctors. I expect it from the men but I was so baffled when a woman doctor said similar things to me. Mysogyny runs deep in the medical system. I'm so happy for you to FINALLY get the treatment you need! Living in pain is no joke and takes a toll especially after years. I hope you get lots of relief from your surgery and I wish you the best during recovery 💜

@@morrigansmagikalmakings and the funny thing is, my mom has grand babies via my brother from another mother. He’s always called her his second mom and his kids call her nana. My older sister has 2 kids as well. And now there’s great grandkids. In total she’s got 9 grandkids and 13 great grand babies with a 14 coming around her birthday. I’m pretty sure she’s set.

I had my surgery last Thursday on the 29th. I have absolutely NO regrets. So far the only real pain I’ve had is gas pains. The incisions feel a bit awkward just because of where a couple of them are. The belly button is the one that hurts just a little. Other than that and very little appetite for a couple of days, I’ve had no real pain.
