Just being honest. :-). Is there a possibility to use plastdip to repair flexible material like a purse, jacket, and so on? It looks just like the vinyl that is on different textiles. I'm pretty sure on textile it will be less easy to peel off which might be a positive side effect as it shouldn't peel off on textile material easily. I know it's usually made to peel off easily in car interior parts etc.

Definitely needed to use something (blocks of wood, painter's triangles, etc) to elevate the items before painting so that you could get the edges. Great comparison - very helpful! 👍

Though I like Rustoleum's spray paint products, I gotta go with plastic dip simply because it is easier to peel with only 4 coats compared to 8 coats of the vinyl wrap.
@eddiespagetti83952 жыл бұрын
Easier to peel means it did not seal or bond well. That's worst sign for paint. It's all weak. Does not last long on rims. Wear and tear and look like crap in a short time. Waste of time. Go buy new rims cheap people
@x-man5056 Жыл бұрын
I like the Rustoleum products results better, but I need something other than Gloss Blk, Gloss Wht, or Gloss Red. I'm wondering if I could spray Rustoleum Vinyl/fabric spray, or even regular paint over the top of the white to get the color I want. I want to paint motorcycle tank. Guess I'll have to experiment further.
@chalexsaychow5444 Жыл бұрын
There’s a video where someone sprayed the peel coat and then sprayed regular spray paint over it and it still was able to peel. I’m gonna try it on my motorcycle 😎

Any time you Paint doesn’t matter if it’s plasty dip or anything you should always have a bright flashlight look at it between codes and your final coat the same thing when you’re painting a house you use a bright flashlight and put it right up against the wall and look for all imperfections and nail pops that way you can fix the walls perfect before you paint especially if the room has a lot of sunlight you will see the imperfections really bad especially because a lot of people use eggshell and satin on the walls and flat on the ceilings are use eggshell on the trim and to make it pop depending on what color the walls are like if you’re using like a light gray and you have maybe a black accent wall there’s so many different ways to do it but I always choose A different white on the baseboards than the ceilings I’m really OCD so I look at a lot of different colors the little pink cards I have them all over the place sticking in the baseboards matching them up to one another to see what’s going on with the best but prepping is the most important part if you wanted to look good when you’re painting anything I know a place he did and stuff like that you can pull it off and do it again but when I was younger when I first learned to paint when I was in my teens painting apartments and we sprayed all the flat and rolling cut all the semi gloss no custom work but that’s where I learn how to spray after you do it for not long at all everybody’s different everybody I worked with were friends of mine we grew up together we were all in competition with one another you could finish the apartments the fastest and look the best

I wonder if it cured for a good while, like days or a couple weeks if it would be more bonded to the plastic. Or if the plastic would have been more prepared/sanded maybe it might adhere better.... just a thought.
@shoalmighty3343 жыл бұрын
Thus is a good comparison but why not use black instead of white. Of course it takes more coats covering a black part with white paint. And the vinyl wrap says not to use on plastic.

The vinyl wrap by rust oleum has acetone so don’t use it on your paint!!!! Found out the hard way

My car paint is already ruined by sub damage. I don't care anymore about Mr ruining it further than what mother nature already did to it. Besides the vinyl wrapping film is more of a giant sticker.

Wait, what? How is this not more commented on? Acetone! WTF? I see vids of ppl sprayinging this on their paint constantly. How come a year later I don't hear bad comments on this?
@scottpogasic78392 жыл бұрын
@@mygt8a4re probably because acetone is harmless to automotive clearcoat. Any vehicles in the last 20 years have factory finishes that can stand up to way stronger solvents than acetone.

Man! Some of these people really come at you! I liked the comparison. I'm actually looking for something very durable to paint a kids plastic car (cozy coupe) that won't scratch off easily with bumping and banging around. Thought maybe if its used on wheels, then maybe. I don't care if it comes off (I'd actually rather it didn't lol) you scratched with your fingernails but will either one tolerate a good roughing up?

Alright so it's basically like a forgivable paint in that if it turns out the finished look isn't to your liking or you messed something up, you could technically (as frustrating as it would be) peel it off and try again.
@AndrewDoesLife10 ай бұрын
Yeah, pretty much! Super beginner friendly so if you mess it up (which it is hard to) you can simply peel right off and do again

Decent comparison but a lot of people use plastidip for emblems on the car and desire how easily it peels from the paint while staying on the paint requiring no knife to separate. Would have rather seens this tested on a panel, not loose emblems.
@Boobienoobie1473 ай бұрын
You have to take into account that it’s a wet style paint and the more layers the better and the better peel quality
@bnewt1139 Жыл бұрын
DO NOT use Rustoleum Vinyl wrap on a newer vehicle w/ clear coat, the paint will etch into the clear coat leaving your clear coat thin and will leave permanent masking lines anywhere there's been paint applied then masking removed. This product should have never been released to the public for automotive applications!!!!
