I've tested both products in the Canadian winter in Ontario and I can assure you the Hyperdip is less durable than the original Plasti Dip! I spent so much time painting my rear after market bumper diffuser on my S550 Mustang GT and when you add ice build up to the equation with a self wash car wash it's gonna get destroyed! With ice sticking to the Hyper Dip and add a pressure washer, the ice will just pull at the Hyper dip and tear apart your hard work you've put into your project! Funny thing is my front lower bumper chin which is sprayed with 4-5 coats of the original Plasti Dip rocks and other things just bounce off of it because it's a more flexible product and can easily endure the ice and water pressure from a car wash without getting torn apart at all, go figure! P.S. For my diffuser, I also had sprayed 4 coats of clear coat for a better finish and better protection and it still couldn't endure the ice and pressure washer in the winter!

My rims came out MUCH better when I prepped the can by setting it in warm water for about 20 minutes. Made a world of difference. Also,.....you'll get better results if you do more light passes...instead of a few heavy passes...if that makes sense

I either let the spray cans sit inside the house close to the vent on colder days, or let it bathe in the sun to warm up before rattling and painting. Make sure to clean the nozzle before spraying. And, tilting the can upside down to empty the nozzle for like 5 seconds and wipe down after each coat.

Plastic dip is a matt black, which is just that matt black with rough finish no shine. Most people doing the black out on badges they do matt black. I used plastic dip on my exhaust tip looks great and which tire throwing dirt and debri. It still looks great no nick's or chips. Washes of nice and easy. Been on for a few years and still looks like new. Hyper dip is satin finish so yes it is smoother and has a shine to it. I sure it's a great product it is going to come down to what the owner has in mind for his or her vehicle.

One step you want to do is do 4 tack/dusting coats. You cannot use the same technique as you would with the PlastiDip. I helped develop the coating and you want to treat it more like spraying spray paint. The wet coats must be done wet. You dont put a pooling wet coat on though you must do multiple passes over an area to wet it out so there is no runs or sags.

Glossifier isnt that glossy and doesn’t last in my opinion and it has a rough feeling

Has anyone used hyperdip to black out emblems on matte paint? I’ve heard plastidip will stain the sensitive matte paints due to solvents in the spray. Was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with this on either product.
@EhabHalat9 ай бұрын
It wont harm the matte paint

Do you know how they protect wheels from salt in winter ??
@EhabHalat2 жыл бұрын
Yes doesnt harm the wheels at all and cleans off easy

Looks like the Hyperdip clearly had more wrinkles and imperfections around the 10 center holes versus the Plasti Dip. Is that due to the thinner layers of Hyperdip letting imperfections show through?

I never noticed that tbh it could be

@@EhabHalat TBF you didn't notice because you were clearly biased from the very beginning of the video. It was obvious. Did you get some kind of incentive for it? I believe you may have.

@gsam3461 not at all lol i was just excited for hyperdip because ive been using plasti dip for a long time and heard good things about hyperdip

You didn't say how much you had to use per tire, or how long it took to dry?????????????????
@EhabHalat Жыл бұрын
One can per tire, fully cure in 8-12 hours
@mariatrejo71112 жыл бұрын
After doing this, to make sure it lasts the 3-5 years, to clean the rim can a wheel brush be used or something else softer to not mess it up?
@EhabHalat2 жыл бұрын
I would use a soft brush forsure

Hey thank you! Make sure the wheel is super clean and dry (use rubbing alcohol for final wipe down) be patient and take your time, start off with light coats and build them up dont go too heavy too quick

Good video. You appeared to think Hyperdip was the best before you applied them 😂. Also, they are different "blacks", and I would expect a different look anyways. Thanks for the video though. 💪🏾

Yes because i heard alot of good things about it before i applied it. No problem thanks for watching

@EhabHalat8 ай бұрын
Wait 24 hours and when using a pressure washer, keep a fair distance from the wheels
